Meh, sure I guess. I think she has the intellect for it. Wasn't she a lawyer at one time?

2012-12-07 09:16:27 AM
Perhaps she can try for a lower office first.

2012-12-07 09:17:45 AM
Still, the first lady has insisted political ambitions are non-existent in her post-White House plans.

So it's really just bullshiat speculation.

2012-12-07 09:27:42 AM
It would be fun to see all the conservative PACs go bankrupt trying to prevent it.

2012-12-07 10:22:43 AM
At least she has more principles than 90% of the clowns in the Senate today.

at least she is from Illinois and isn't just moving there to get a seat.

why not? she's a lawyer, whip smart and she can give a helluva speech.

Sign her up! Then we can vote for her for President in 2024.

2012-12-07 11:18:55 AM
No subby she is not considering it.

2012-12-07 11:20:05 AM
I'd rather she ran for Governor.

2012-12-07 11:20:22 AM
Hey Submittard, if I conduct a poll asking people if they think you should rip out your pancreas with a rusty pair of pliers, and they say yes, does that mean that you are considering ripping out your pancreas with a rusty pair of pliers?

2012-12-07 11:26:16 AM
Warren/Obama 2024?

2012-12-07 11:26:23 AM
Doesn't seem likely given how much of a priority she's made attending to her daughters because Barack is so busy. He'll likely remain pretty busy after he leaves the White House.

Still, hope she considers. She's way better than most of the other people in the Senate.

Running INTO it - while drunk, maybe?

Seems to be a rash of that sh*t going around today. It's Friday. Guess it's time to f*ck with us.

Considering she'd be running in here home state and is actually qualified to run, the fact she's the First Lady is the only thing she has in common with Hillary Clinton. Hillary won on the backs of women feeling bad that her husband cheated on her, and ran on the underlying idea that a vote for Hillary was actually a vote for Bill.

I'd take her over some of the Republicans in the Senate now. At least she's pro-literacy.

How do they keep equating the Clinton name's time as the same as the Bush name's time? There hasn't been two VP terms and 3 president terms under a Clinton name.

WTF Indeed: Hillary won on the backs of women feeling bad that her husband cheated on her, and ran on the underlying idea that a vote for Hillary was actually a vote for Bill.

This statement is inherently contradictory.

A degree from Oral Roberts School of Law. Worked for the IRS. Felt sorry for the businesses she was making pay their taxes.
That's our Shelly.

red5ish: This statement is inherently contradictory.

Women felt bad because Bill cheated on her and they felt the need give her something. Men voted for Hillary because they thought they would get Bill with it. In the end, Hillary won because Ruddy was unable to run because of cancer. If he had run, Ruddy would have won a close election.

2012-12-07 11:46:04 AM
One more red seat flipped to blue. One seat closer to Dems having the majority (60) in the Senate, instead of always being in the minority to the GOP's 41 seat majority.

While I applaud your use of a fine gif, I believe an argument as to why you disagree would be better.

She had a job so important, that it was not replaced when she left. It wasn't a political handout at all.

Mark Kirk is an enormous dickbag. Of course MO is beating him in polls. A pile of corn-encrusted poop would be ahead of him in a poll.

I have a friend who worked for Laura Bush. She may be pro-literacy, but apparently she's not particularly literate (in the "well-read" sense) -- my friend told me in not so many words that she's a hick, and this is a guy from small-town Ohio.

Odd how it's only the Democratic Presidents' wives that run for office. I guess they don't know their place is in the home, like good Republican wives.

and Kennedy heirs that feel they 'like totally' should be appointed positions but not have to run. Democrat First Ladies think they were elected too. Look at how obnoxious John Kerry's wife was and she wasn't even First Lady.

Had Hilary kicked Bill to the curve and ran on her own, I would actually kind of respect her.

the Bush legacy is a people who are willing to lick boots and cow-tow to their betters, doing whatever it takes to curry favor for the chance to hold positions in which they will be willing moppet marionettes. Hitler himself couldn't have done better than that family. the bulk of them should be in prison.

This is IL. Barack got elected Senator with no prior history.

Would rather see her as Governor because IL could use her kind of intelligence in this state. I'd also be pretty sure she didn't end up in jail.

She's devoted to family so I don't see this happening

I think she'll have to spend a lot of time in the next 4 years putting herself out there. Not sure the causes she has championed so far are enough to push her to the front for a Senate race, she might want to start lower and move her way up.

/also need less lawyers in Washington
