I wonder what the landlord would make of our "political" bumper sticker that reads "Republicans for Voldemort."

I believe there are several federal laws against doing this.

Enjoy the law suits, losers.

Meanwhile I'll enjoy drinking your GOP tears, as they sustain me.

dahmers love zombie: GAT_00: That's all kinds of illegal, right? Housing discrimination. So why would you not openly proclaim that you voted for Obama and then proceed to sue the fark out of him.

I'd imagine that many, if not most of the people who live in this asshat's properties are in tenuous housing situations, and don't have a lawyer on retainer. Even assuming that you could find an Internet Lawyer to take the case pro bono or on contingency, it still puts you in a precarious position.

And I'm sure there are plenty of enterprising, hungry, up and coming lawyers in that town alone who are just drooling at the mouth at the opportunity to jump down this guy's throat, get their name in the national press, and sue him for everything he has, including his spiffy little rental properties.

I would be extremely surprised if there weren't a dozen lawyers salivating to take on this case pro bono, not to mention any number of civil rights and housing rights organizations. Talk about a public platform. . . .

The Dog Ate My Homework: The only good thing about Colorado Springs is its outrageously awesome German bakery. Otherwise the entire place is a complete waste of a beautiful landscape. Not one single other redeeming quality about that place.

I beg to differ. There is one redeeming quality.

FTA the letter : "Heretofore, the repair costs are going to be back-billed to the residents depending on what the sewer technician reports as the cause of the problem : feminine hygiene products / towelettes to apartments with nubile females and grease to all."

really?

then there has to be a notice about not letting dogs crap and piss in the hallways?

pretty sure there are bigger problems with this place that rank waaaaaay higher than Obama getting re-elected. sounds like this business titan is shifting the blame for his rank incompetence onto something that has nothing to do with anything.

I like that idea. If you voted to raise someone else's taxes and cost of living, your own cost of living should be raised so that you can experience first-hand what you voted to inflict on others.

If this guy is just trying to be an attention whore, then take a number right behind the gun shop owner and Papa John's CEO, farkstick.

And if he's serious, then I hope he likes being sued into oblivion. His tenants will end up owning those buildings before the cases are closed.

Honestly through, no matter what the quality/level of the apartments is, this will always be an occasional problem. People who live in apartments with dogs tend to be inconsiderate assholes/scum. Doesn't matter if it's low end or high end or what state.

Hate complexes that allow dogs.

On the other hand, an acquaintance of mine from work claims he went out to feed the meter on his car in Harvard Square and found it being ticketed despite his arriving at the precise moment the meter ran out. The meter butler refused to cut him any slack and told him "If you're gonna have a Romney bumper sticker, you've got to expect to be mistreated around here." He complained to the city but I'm sure everyone just had a good laugh at his expense. And of course, this may only be a backwards "B" scratch type incident--the guy is an "independent" AND an Apple fan boy.

The gun shops I know about are happier than pigs in shiat that Obama got reelected. Thanks to the paranoid idiots, their merchandise is flying off the shelves.

As for this clown, he's just talking tough. He can't demand his tenants tell him who they voted for, and even if he could, all they have to do is lie. There's no way for him to prove it.

I have a real problem with all these business owners that are saying they need to cut hours, lay off employees, and raise prices immediately because of Obamacare. The vast majority of the law, including the business mandate and taxes, don't even go into effect until 2014. How can you possibly need to do those things right now for something that doesn't even go into effect for more than a year from now? Either they're just lying to try bash the law, or they were already planning on doing those things and are simply using it as a means to deflect criticism. "Hey, sorry, I didn't want to cut your hours and and raise prices, but I had to because Obamacare. Blame the president, not me!"

Time to send in the ACORN/Black Panther strike force to rip out all his plumbing.

Have you lived here? Then STFU and DIAF, ya snotty Denverite.

It's not Denver that was on fire earlier this year.

But he has a point. If you voted against gay marriage, you should not be allowed to be married. If you voted against medicinal marijuana, you're not allowed to take the most effective medication for your condition. If you voted Republican because you want America to fight a given war, you should have to be sent to combat. If you voted Republican in order to bust unions, your retirement/pension should be taken and given to the richest Democrat in your district.

There's real potential in that idea.

I lived there for 10 years, and can say with full authority that Colorado Springs is the florida of the mountain west.

Stunning mountain views, but holy gawd is it chock full of nuts.

/I still miss it though, and would move back in a minute.
//to the funky side of town, the west side, where all the really wacky people live.

I just love the tantrums, though, don't you? You can picture this chucklehead, full of thoughts about his petty claims to power over others, raging about how the very folks who pay him rent stabbed him in the back. He's going to make them pay!

Oh, Mr Landlord, who did I vote for? Satan. Voted for Satan. Just like he told me to. Actually walked with me to the poll to make sure I did it. He was quite pleased with me, said just call him if I need anything. Double dog dare you to evict me.

Sure beats acquiring and running rental units of their own while providing a real service/product to low income people.

Better to just take it from someone who did take a risk.

Empty the place out, put on a new coat of paint and it could make for a good flip.

/agree about the drooling part

badhatharry: He must not accept Section 8. He'd lose all of his tenants.

Amusingly enough, I know several families in Section 8 housing and every single one of them are pretty hardcore conservatives. Always gives me a chuckle when I see comments like this.

/temporarily embarrassed millionaires, oh yes they are.

Wouldn't it be nice to see that this idiot was suddenly the target of an IRS audit?

Markoff_Cheney: Honestly compared to the rest of Colorado the landscape's not that great. (Well, the rest of real Colorado, not West Kansas.)

telluride. guanella pass. berthoud pass. sand dunes. the gorge. telluride. maroon bells.

That was my point. The rest of Colorado is amazing. Co Spgs, not so much.
