FTA - But her neighbor, who also wished to hide her identity, came to Obringer's defense. "It's just John. He's kind of a quirky landlord," she said.

I don't know that "Oh, he's just a bugnuts crazy-ass who constantly spews ignorant horseshiat out of his cakehole" really constitutes coming to someone's defense.

"Oh him? He's just retarded as all get out. Don't listen to nothin' that pants-shiattin' mong has to say."

Just a token. From the merry-go-round in the mall. On one side is a happy, smiling clown, and on the other side is a pretty pony. Token always makes me happy.

I have been visiting the Colorado Springs area for over 40 years. My mom was raised there. I have family there.

The infestation of conservatives is sad. It was a really nice town until they ruined it.

What an asshole. I'm going to assume this man is a slum lord, in which case his tenants aren't in any position to take a principled stand for fear of being homeless. If rental history were not an issue, I'd love to see a bunch of them refuse to pay rent for several months while they looked for another apartment. Force this douche to start the expensive and time-consuming eviction process for a shiatload of people.

I had an asshole rental agency one time that tried to force me to allow them to show the house while I was still in the process of moving out. Mr teeny was working out of state and I was by myself with 3 kids and the flu was getting passed from kid to kid. I still had two weeks before I was scheduled to be out but they were insisting that they were going to show up with potential renters. The day they were scheduled to show up I set up bug bombs all throughout the house and set them all off just minutes before they all came walking up to the door. Then I spent the evening at my sister's. I felt sort of biatchy but mostly smug. They were the worst agency ive ever had to deal with ever.

Egalitarian: TheBeastOfYuccaFlats: Colorado Springs isn't home to Focus on the Family for no reason.

hey it's not all Christo-libertarian-fascists over here on the Front Range. having said that, I never put lib-lib-libs bumper stickers on my car for fear of getting keyed. I know somebody who got confronted over an Obama bumper sticker.

my first reaction to the headline was "Oh Doug Bruce, are you up to shenanigans again?"

I live in one of the poorest counties in NY, where most residents are some flavor of (R), and I take the same precautions. The original reason was the briefings they started doing in the Reserves about not making your vehicle a target for terrorists (yeah yeah, I know, but it was mostly intended for anyone overseas), but after I got a less conspicuous car I continued the practice to avoid road-ragers.

Had a company attorney tell us once that we couldn't use political leanings when making hiring decisions. And, more importantly, that if, hypothetically, it did happen, to not go down on the record with it.

We had incredibly bad experiences with several employees who knew every little ticky tack rule and regulation and would demand they be abided by only to cause the company trouble and cost us money. Always inciting the other employees and stirring up trouble. Calling OSHA and the State EPA in over bullshiat so thin they never came back. Deliberately ratfarking their work to only produce the bare minimum at barely acceptable levels of quality. It was like having petulant little children on the floor.

Then we noticed that all of these problem children were the ones listening to AM radio all day. We knew that because they caused problems with that too, cranking it up loud and drawing their co-workers into the on-air "discussion" and creating a generally hostile atmosphere. Imagine being a middle aged black woman and having to listen to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and some idiot fan of theirs all day long. So we had to make it a vote for each area of the plant and Sean was not heard from again.

I will never hire a hate radio fan again.

Dear GOP, this is why you lost... you hate more than half of Americans, you clamor to secede from the union or default on paying the bills for programs you already voted for every time you don't get your way. You're vindictive, you threaten people with such harsh conditions that they'll self-deport, justify bigger government in the name of religion (but only to intrude on dirty liberal religions that are ok with the gays), fought to increase the payroll tax, and are now fighting to slash social security and medicare so you can keep funding tax cuts for millionaires. You're bitter, angry people who are constantly focused on who you should hate so much that you haven't got the first clue about what the country is looking for in a leader. As a dyed in the wool liberal, I'd like to say good job, keep up the good work.

Honestly compared to the rest of Colorado the landscape's not that great. (Well, the rest of real Colorado, not West Kansas.)

Ha!

Reminds me of my last employer. Every year we would get a lecture of how high health care premiums were and the next year we would have to start contributing the next year.

Before Obama was even inaugurated, they started to charge us for health insurance and blamed it on ObamaCare.

I wish I was lying. And it was a shiatty high detuctable insurance. They would pay 80% after you spent $5,000 out of pocket.

GAT_00: Nofun: GAT_00: dahmers love zombie: GAT_00: That's all kinds of illegal, right? Housing discrimination. So why would you not openly proclaim that you voted for Obama and then proceed to sue the fark out of him.

I'd imagine that many, if not most of the people who live in this asshat's properties are in tenuous housing situations, and don't have a lawyer on retainer. Even assuming that you could find an Internet Lawyer to take the case pro bono or on contingency, it still puts you in a precarious position.

I imagine the ACLU would be more than happy to pay for the suit.

After reading the article, this guy just sounds like a giant troll. Responding in this manner only feeds the troll. Please don't feed the trolls.

Yeah, someone who would be, I think, breaking the law if they carried this out is just a troll and we shouldn't pay attention to them.

He can't evict a tenant unless the tenant breaches the lease; I'm sure voting is not covered in the lease.

However, he could refuse to renew an expiring lease because a tenant voted "wrong." That's not a protected status under any fair-housing laws. All he has to say is, "We don't get along" and you're out when your lease is up.

you are right, there are some awesome death metal shows down there. ive worked and had to stay in the sprags for months at a time, compared to keystone or steamboat or other places i have stayed for long periods of time, i was not that impressed. it still has its merits, the air force base is amazing, which we did the steel work on a few buildings. also ft carson i think, meh, work is work.

I was just insinuating that I am well aware of the person that I was dealing with (unlike you). My "no offense" comment was a reference to the fact that I meant no offense by suggesting that your intrusion into our conversation was entirely unnecessary. I know him and I know what I am doing. And yes, he uses logical thought. You just might not like it. I disagree with him quite frequently, but he is logical and thoughtful. You might not agree with his conclusions, but you should at least recognize 'thought' even if you disagree.

ive seen krusher be just as irrational and illogical as some of the legends of trolling around here, and seen plenty of sane rationality and even a breakthrough or two of learning on krushers behalf. if you dont like your conversations posted for all to see, and respond to, deal with it accordingly. ive had people that i thought were flaming trolls post plenty of shiat that made me do a double take outside of political threads.

2012-12-07 02:05:19 AM
Then he added, "BTW: If you voted "Democrat" on Nov. 6, please notify me ASAP so I can raise your rent first to help pay for what you asked for."

If it was me, I'd send him a polite letter reminding him of the local landlord/tenant laws about raising rents. I'd also send him a copy of the penal code about extortion. But I'm kind of a biatch that way.

2012-12-07 02:22:00 AM
Back in my landlord days I did something similar.

The city of St. Paul enacted a certification program for smaller rental properties (they already were in place for the big ones) that meant a yearly inspection with a fee of $200.00 per unit per building.

I was operating section 8 units and already had the blessing from the feds as to the livability of my buildings, but no waiver was bieng afforded in the new law for those apartments that had already passed inspection.

Once the new fees went into place I gave a copy of the new rules to each tenant along with their notice of rent increase and provided the name and office number of the council member who had pushed for the new fees, should they have any questions as to why their rent was going up.

Dude has the "uncertainty" suppository stuck too far up his ass. Most of his renters are probably Section 8 recipients who allow him to get 25% over market rate for his crappy apartments. And he sits and biatches about it all day. What a farking loser.

The Casa Adobe Apartments are total rat traps. A haven for Meth Labs and sex offenders, its not like anyone wants to live there, it's usually because they have no other option.

Being A Democrat in the Springs is an interesting experience. It's like the Fox news utopia. Most people I know were sure that Romney was going to win. I relished in their pain when reality hit them.
