Well ... that was unexpected.

As an avid boater, that is the worst thing I've ever seen.

There was someone in the boat, right?

Elaborate please. While this was an interesting novelty I'd like to hear a knowledgeable critique.

I only know about ships.

I would be interested in seeing a cockpit/wheelhouse view to run through the checklist/procedures for vehicle mating/de-mating, pre-launch, crew transfer and so on. Also, is the hull-contour truck fairing any good aerodynamically (i.e. gas savings), does it hide some kind of umbilicals, or is it just a cooler looking way of moving your boat from point A to point B?

Good luck selling that POS.

Whoa. I think I just became a redneck

Hammond can be seen taking notes for the next amphibious car challenge.

You got your ugly boat in my ugly truck! You got your ugly truck in my ugly boat!

Sigh, too much coffee this morning.

Much the same as any trailer boat launching, I expect.

Actually, I quite like it, but I suspect that driving that non-articulated long-wheelbase truck might be a bit of a pain in close quarters.

The long wheelbase would make it hard to maneuver nearly everywhere except a big wide open boat ramp. Trailering would be tricky, under anything but glass conditions would cause 2 damaged vehicles.

I'd rather see them load the boat back up on the truck

Happy Hours: I'd rather see them load the boat back up on the truck

Would be boring. You would have to use a wench system and 50 nervous checks to make sure it is online. Attempting a normal drive up trailering would end very badly.

I know, right? I mean, you could barely make out the chicks on the boat being pulled out at the start of the video.

Neat.

Cameraman apparently suffers from some obscene amount of nerve damage. My god. Don't give that guy a gun. Anything within 180 degrees is fair game.

/ at least he didn't vertical-video the cinematic masterpiece.

don't those ramps get moss or algee on them? won't he just slide in one of these days?

So Michael J. Fox bought an ugly truck and shoved an ugly boat up its ass?

Well that would certainly cure my debilitating can't-back-up-a-trailer disease.

Skip to 1:26 for the "action".

All that money for a ford van front and a bad looking boat when it launched. I was expecting a speedboat style over a square nose pontoon or ferry boat looking thing.

Also, you could put a trailer behind an RV and still be more maneuverable. All around it looks to me like a waste if money. Then again it is a boat dock and from what I understand whomever spent the most money on the most insane setup is the king or something.

Maybe the guy could take you out for a tour. Shouldn't take more than 3 hours. Bring your wife, it'll be a blast.

Boats have to be the biggest waste of money there is.

The first year you own one, you're out on the lake every weekend, rain or shine, doesn't matter. The second summer, it's usually two months into boat season before you use it and your lucky if you take it out once a month the rest of the summer. By the third summer it just sits in your driveway collecting dust and you still have 6 more years worth of payments to make on it.

After that you either sell it for half what you owe on it or you pay someone to steal it and collect the insurance.

I've never met anyone who bought a boat who didn't live to regret it.

You'd be wrong. One of many sailboats I've owned is now in a museum thanks to my restoration of her.
