(AZ Family)   When a reporter asks her a question about climate change, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer answers with a reasoned and nuanced response. Just kidding. She punches the reporter in the arm. "Where in the hell did that come from?"   (azfamily.com) divider line 72

Lady, what's your problem? I only punch friends and family in a playful manner, not strangers.

Sorry, Governor Brewer, but reporters don't confine themselves to the questions you want them to ask.

I'm kinda upset that she just stopped at pointing at Obama. I would have loved to see her pop the President in the back of the arm.

Did she follow "where did that come from" with "I'm talking about energy"? Does she think that energy policy and climate change are unrelated?

I guess if you think that nothing humans do could possibly cause climate change, then you'd think that climate change and everything are unrelated.

It's a fact global warming is just a way to fund Gore's global green police that will finally destroy freedom for all time in a totalitarian hell scape of compact florescent light bulbs and electric cars.

And in Arizona there's a good chance it's both.

I hope this starts a trend. Specifically, I hope Jan Brewer keeps punching reporters who ask questions she doesn't like, for then the odds that one of them will haul off and knock her the f*ck out go wayyyyyyy up.

If anything reaffirms my faith in climate change science, it's responses like "weather...or it's elements...or it's you know...controlled by...different things" from the opposition.

/97+% of climate scientists don't have different views but apparently Jan Brewer's friends hold the same level of credibility.

The people of Arizona have a penchant for electing batshiat crazy. They got it.

She's confused how a question about human influence on climate change is coming up during a discussion about energy policy? Apparently the people of Arizona also like retarded.

It's ironic too because AZ would do well (and needs to) to pay a lot more attention to green energy and environmental conservation. For one thing, they have an ENORMOUS problem with water and one of the best ways to deal with it is to use more efficient appliances and work with the environment instead of against it (and limit new housing of course). Additionally AZ is perfectly situated to take advantage of solar energy and to a lesser extent wind. If solar ever figured out how to appropriately integrate into a national energy network and/or store more efficiently, AZ would be a gold mine.

Looking at the video, she tapped him with the back of her hand. Sort of like knocking on a door. And she didn't sound angry, more condescending/disappointed.

But it is kind of insane that she thinks it's an unfair or irrelevant question when talking about energy.

This. Arizona would be the best place to put solar farms. Talk about something that created jobs... "We're going to build half a million acres of solar panels. Suck it, Keystone XL."

The "punch" is far less important than the indignation at a reporter going off-script.

I was playing the video and my wife was doing many other things at the time, even SHE looked up and said 'Wow!'. Without even really paying attention to the context, she figured out that this was completely out of it. Good luck AZ, maybe she'll get lost on the Appalachian Trail and never be heard from again.

Good God, it's not even "off script". Holy farking Jesus in a jumper, it was an interview regarding her attending a goddam energy conference. Energy and Climate change concerns go hand in hand. If she got caught off guard by that, she shouldn't be operating such complex devices as motor vehicles, let alone governing a state.

"Do you believe in climate change or 'global warming' being man-made?"

"Different people believe a lot of different things?"

"Well, what do you believe?"

"I probably believe it's not man-made."

Wait. You 'probably' believe? So your only opinion is that a lot of people have different opinions and you're not entirely sure what your own opinion is? How the hell was this person elected to office?

Sunbleached.

I'd press assault charges against that old crusty biatch.

Actually, could he have shot her and gotten away with it?

2012-12-06 11:51:24 AM
Yeah, not really rising to the level of physical attack, but her attitude towards the question was hilarious, in a "Holy shiat, does she not know these things are related?" way.

And was that her at the end saying "I'm going to be watching him"? Sounded like her voice off-camera. That would concern me more than the love tap she gave him.

It says it's a week-old story. AFAIK, she's still MIA on "official business", which if isn't front page news in every paper in Arizona, every day, then those farkers are slipping.
