"Dogs can sniff out lung cancer, pilot study shows"
How the dogs do it: if you smell like a Marlboro, you probably have lung cancer.
King Keepo: "The ultimate aim is not however to have canines stationed in hospitals, but for scientists to identify what scents the dogs are detecting"In the short-medium term why not station dogs in hospitals? Get your diagnosis done by a trained health professional that eats tripe and licks his own balls.
GentlemanJ: Ren: Oh, my beloved ice-cream bar. How I love to lick your creamy center.[eats bar of soap]Ren: And your oh, so nutty chocolate covering. You're not like the others. You like the same things I do: Wax paper. Boiled football leather. Dog breath. We're not hitchhiking anymore. We're riding!
Lt_Ryan: The cynic in me says they don't want to station dogs in hospitals because there isn't as much profit in that as is a test for hundred/thousands of dollars.
