I would love to see Purdue in something similar

It's nice they'll look pretty for another Navy beatdown

They're nice but not as bad ass as the ones they had for this game a couple of years ago...

how about some better pictures??? I couldn't see the majority of the details they were talking about.

Am I the only one who hates the stupid bar on the yahoo site while using mobile? Its to the point I won't even click on a yahoo link any longer since a third of it is ads for them.

This just in, the New Orleans Saints road jerseys are "actually really badass".

They look like football uniforms. That could be bad-ass to impressionable people, I guess.

I was at the Army/EMU game this year and thought that the "Affix Bayonettes" cheer was actually pretty badass.

Hey is it OK if I root for Navy?

The first college football game I ever went to (and still one of the only) was an Army game at West Point when I was about 11, so this would have been around '97 or so. I think they were actually ranked at the time. In any case, even 11-year-old me realized how badass the whole experience was. Paratrooper delivering the game ball, cannons on scores and kickoffs...good times.

Just found the game. It was against Lafayette in 1996. Army won 41-21 to improve their record to 8-0 (!). They ended up 10-2, counting their loss to Auburn in the Independence Bowl.

Kinda what I was thinking. The inlaid map was the only thing out of the ordinary.

It's cool but the only cool things about it are so subtle that no one would have noticed if not for the story about how cool they are.

I think the Navy uniforms are actually better - you can see the correlation to actual Navy uniforms. The Army kit looks like the Saints came to town and bears no relation to an Army uniform of any kind.

The Army should wear full head to toe beige digital cammo uniforms and the navy should wear the blue digital cammo equivalent. That would be fun and terrible at the same time.

I actually clicked on that before realizing it was a link to facebook. Ugh. And should the military stop having US flags everywhere, since some retarded protesters have flags too?

By robots? On moto-cross bikes?

Sorry, should have warned about the Facebook link, but I think that's the only place they've posted them -- that was a direct link from the Yahoo website.

I respectfully disagree with your flag comparison, though. Everybody uses U.S. flags, but in the last few years, only the Tea Party has prominently featured the "Don't Tread on Me" and snake.

Really? I am intrigued by the potential awesomeness of this. I mean, the kinda lame traditional cheery somethings like, "D-FENSE!" or "RED!.....WHITE!," or White Stripes vocalizations, compared to
"A-FFIX....BAY-O-NETS!" really isn't a fair comparison at all.

Bayonets FTW.

Perhaps you have a link to share? Or a simple description? I couldn't find anything...

I heard they discontinued those unis because the Army players were virtually invisible to the opponent on the field.

Great callback to the last war the United States won. Kinda reminds me of these other teams that keep bringing up old moments to distract their fans from the fact that they aren't taking care of business today.

Good thing pageantry is more important than, say, not producing the individuals who publicly rip on the TIllman family for calling out the Army for poorly covering up their son's fratricide by stating that they can't except that their son is "worm dirt" because they are atheists.

They are very bland to say the least.

The Navy uniforms are dope as hell though.

red5ish: That flag is the first Navy Jack.

And is currently used as the jack for Naval warships since 9/11/2002.

If they ripped on the family publicly, why would the Army need to produce them?

In other words: What the fark are on about?

Fair enough. The only recent use of the frontier flag that I'm aware of, myself, is in poster-form in college dorm rooms.

In the future, football players will forgo pads in favor of endoskeleton reinforcement. Behold, the Super Soldier Linebacker:

I liked Navy's look in 2011, where they had the drop-shadowed numbers to mimmick how numbers are painted on the sides of navy boats. I was hoping they'd do the same thing on this year's white uniform - it would show up much more clearly - but apparently not. Also, it ends up being the only game where they use the anchor logo on the helmet, which looks really nice.

Army's look is okay this year. Not a fan of all-black, but the map inlays are pretty cool.

The uniforms pay tribute to WWII and the Battle of the Bulge. Wasn't that the last time Army actually won the Army-Navy game?

Go Navy! Beat Army!

I think I can make out a map of the US imprinted on the numbers, and on the compression shirt where it's more noticeable.

Wouldn't good camo football uniforms be a green grass pattern? Or would a pigskin pattern be more effective?
