ArkPanda: By the way, this doesn't necessarily prove that we are flying stuff into Iran. There's a pro-Iranian militia in western Afghanistan that probably has all kinds of junk by now.

BolloxReader: Why do people think that they did not have data to analyze? Given that we already lost one drone over Iran I'd think they would load them up with extraneous hard drives full of interesting but completely false data. Then watch how the false data are propagated and how many resources are thrown at bad projects.Just because it doesn't come from the factory with a HDD doesn't mean Iran may not find one.
cgraves67: Cythraul: And even if they had one of our drones. Then what? Are they going to start building them? Did the drone have all our military tactics information embedded in it?It's apparently a generic model. So it's not like they are getting proprietary US technology. Several countries are using them. The US claims it's not ours, but it could belong to any one of the NATO or Arab countries operating in the area or Israel. The Iranians could pull cryptographic software off of it, and reverse engineer it in order to do something, maybe hijack more drones.
