Explodo: The "I forgot it was there" defense should be an automatic license revoke for 1 year on the first offense and permanently after that along with making it illegal for you to even own one. If you're not careful enough with a gun to even know where it is you don't deserve to have it.
mat catastrophe: Why does a Chick-Fil-A exec own a security checkpoint at the Atlanta airport?
SurfaceTension: I can see how one would forget that.Flying in June this year. I had 3 bags with me. Was originally planning to check two and carry on a third. Changed my mind at the last minute and instead of checking the bag with my clothes and toiletries I decided to check another one and carry that one on. Except I forgot the big bottle of mouthwash was in it. Total blank. Got stopped, and the bottle thrown away. No other hassle. So yeah, I can see if a person is in a hurry and doesn't think about it and suddenly it's "oh shiat".
KarmicDisaster: had98c: Wow. A thread where there's a chance to bash TSA, Chik-Fil-A, the city of Atlanta, or greedy corporate executives, we instead argue over ellipsis. You mean ellipses, that's the plural.
Sid_6.7: B. The airport in TFA is the busiest in the world in terms of passenger traffic, and is located in Georgia, both certainly contributing to more guns being found on passengers compared to other airports.
The Slush: Responsible gun ownership: "Durr, I didn't know where my gun was"
Onkel Buck: Friend of mine went through security recently with live rounds in his bags. TSA never saw a thing
Greek: Hmm... a religious fundamentalist attempting to take a gun on a plane. They are going to charge him with terrorism, right?
Somacandra: Oh relax, Submtter. He was probably just trying to guard himself and his employees against the rabid horde of same-sex couples coming through Atlanta that day. Perfectly understandable.
factoryconnection: I doubt they have the heaviest check-point through-put. If you're just connecting through ATL you don't get searched.
Maud Dib: U mad, bro...??!&
kumanoki: Who "forgets" a firearm?
Jake Havechek: Colonel Sanders kept an RPG launcher and shotgun in his car trunk.
ginandbacon: Ya know? I think that "forgetting" about your gun is a pretty good sign that you are either lying to law enforcement or that you seriously shouldn't own a gun.
Sid_6.7: colinspooky: Can't believe this doesn't happen every 20 minutes at one US airport or another.........A. Please, for the love of Christ, an ellipsis only has three periods, and is not an appropriate way to end a sentence, especially one at the end of the entirety of what you have written/a paragraph (such as it is). You might as well end your sentence with "^^^%%". It makes about as much sense grammatically.B. The airport in TFA is the busiest in the world in terms of passenger traffic, and is located in Georgia, both certainly contributing to more guns being found on passengers compared to other airports.
Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: Greek: Hmm... a religious fundamentalist attempting to take a gun on a plane. They are going to charge him with terrorism, right? He's a white CEO. I'm surprised they haven't apologized profusely for interrupting his job creating.
pottie: First, let me say that I believe that everyone who would normally qualify for a concealed carry permit should be allowed to pack a gun on a plane. Second let me say that if you "forget" that you are carrying a gun, you should never be allowed to carry a gun.
namatad: Which begs the question, WHY is this an issue? Why doesn't TSA respond with "You will have to check this bag sir or throw the gun away."TADA, problem solved!!!
Englebert Slaptyback: Also, she is a woman.
KarmicDisaster: ToxicMunkee: Okay, so tell me. What good is a gun in your bag if you FORGET it's in there? "I'm just trying to protect myself...with a gun I forgot I had!"At the point where you have so many guns that you forget that you are carrying some of them around, you may have too many guns.
Sid_6.7: colinspooky: Krieghund: Sid_6.7: A. Please, for the love of Christ, an ellipsis only has three periodsOf all the thing wrong on Fark, THIS is what you choose to biatch about?Hmm!!! I was..... thinking stuff same? Or summat..............Between twitter, text messaging, and people like you, soon our written language will consist solely of misappropriated punctuation.
TheSignPost: People that forget they're carrying a gun should forever lose the right to carry a gun.
uncleacid: Chickens just don't die by themselves. Someone has to do it.
