Onagarf: Arthur would be good (although every Prince Arthur has died before making it to the throne). As would Henry or Edward. The idea of an Edward IX or Henry IX is something that would be popular.

/Is a British object and thus has skin in the game

What kind of British object? Perhaps a meat pie of some sort?

I think Boudica would be a good name if it's a girl. Very old school.

Could always name him Quinn.

I think they should make a public statement saying they haven't ruled out Agamemnon if it is a boy, or DeBrickashina if it is a girl.

shortymac: He can be called Gus as a kid and then switch to Augustus later. Dr. Augustus (LastName), Augustus (LastName), Esq, and President Augustus (LastName) all work.

Well at least he won't be under any pressure.

i hope they troll the world and name it Shaniqua Ja'que'tt'a Nevaeh Mountbatten-Windsor, even if it's a boy.

Female: Elayne

I'm guessing they'll go for something like Alexander or a version of Diana.
They're not clueless enough to give the baby an awful name.

How about Denise? Or if it's a boy, D'nephew?

2012-12-05 11:46:57 AM
How about Andy Revolution? Then he would be Prince Andy Revolution.

C'mon, Kate and Ed are hip youngsters.

I'm thinking Madysyn or Bella for a girl, Brayden or Joshoowa for a boy.

Boy: Brytnoth. Just don't make him defend any bridges.

Girl: Boudica.

doczoidberg: Antigone would be an awesome name.

I would totally name my daughter that, if I was a douchebag.

Given the plays Antigone's name came from...

/Then again, Antigone had a spine, so she's probably one of the better Greeks to be named for.
//Medea is a close second, but Antigone had a better sense of proportion and just retribution.

Old_Chief_Scott: ADubs86: Nothing wrong with Augustus. That's a fine name.

I agree. And perhaps the little tyke will grow up to conquer Britain as his namesake did before him.

I thought Augustus didn't do much in Britain, it was Claudius that officially annexed the island.

The Brits were always in some state of revolt. Claudius was responsible for "pacifying" Britain later.

Arthur? As in Arthur Pendragon? Wielder of Excalibur and creator of the Round Table? Who sent his men off on a crusade to obtain the Holy Grail, while Lancelot was sleeping with Queen Guinevere on the side?

I'm a U.S. citizen born in Seattle, and I can tell you that's a bad idea.

Go with Jamal. Or Skyler.

Fictional character with only the slimmest connections to a real person?
