CNN article indicates she didn't vote this year, only the second election she missed. Probably automatic Death Panel.

Fark should keep a pool going of regular events and let farkers vote on which will happen first in any given week. There could even be odds:

Lindsay Lohan arrest or new warrant: 4:3
World's oldest person dies: 3:1
Al Qaeda #2 killed: 4:2

Gawddammit I said you gotta stake her. Stop just shooting her in the head ok? Why do you think this has happened so many times already? She's just gonna come back.

Still a better gig than al-Qaeda #2.

We need to select a younger oldest person candidate, maybe someone in their eighties so they can hold the title a while.

/Updating my copy of the Guinness book is getting expensive.

If people would quit aging this wouldn't be a problem.

116? That's really old. I don't for a minute think I'll last that long, but if I could, it would be amazing to see the changes in technology we make in the next 80 years.

Really, this is becoming ridiculous. When's that old biatch going to make up her mind?

Again??? It's like that title is cursed or something.*

* This line was pretty funny the first time, but now I do it out of tradition, much like watching the Charlie Brown Christmas every year.

Her eyesight had deteriorated, though, and she no longer read the Bible or any of the other great works of fiction.

Fixed that for you, CNN.

Well, good for her, but I prefer to concentrate on the living, the MILFy living..

Forty-seven used to be old, or frequently dead.

This is 47 today:

I'm expecting someone in my area to hold the title. Except for hunting, logging and automobile deaths, most of the people are over 100 when they die here.

FTA: "Besse Cooper was declared the world's oldest person in January 2011. In May 2011, Guinness World Records learned that Maria Gomes Valentin of Brazil was 48 days older. Valentin died the next month."

Don't let Guinness know you're alive or they'll knock you off?

Show had great style, jaw-dropping bad bad bad continuity. And I don't even mean bad 'nerd-ish techie' continuity, I mean "we said this about the plot in the first 10 minutes, but 10 minutes later we forgot all about that key plot point."

*sigh* Some great T.V. though in its moment.

SquiggsIN: So common knowledge is that people don't live much past a century and that the oldest person was 122.

Yet a majority of this nation and a third of the planet put their faith in a book that claims a man lived to the ripe old age of 969 years, Methuselah. (Amongst the many others it claims lived to be many hundreds of years)

Humans, on average, are very stupid.

That same book states in no uncertain terms that the rules were changed after the multiple-centenarians had their day. The same passage also states that nobody could ever live beyond 120 years. Make of that what you will.

My point was that the book is full of contradictions and that every explanation for believing what it says requires you to throw logic out the window.

If you look closely, you'll see that I wasn't disagreeing with you.

Why??!? Why does this keep happening? Do they hold a party for the next oldest in line?
"Guess what Pop-Pop! You're next!... I mean...You're the oldest person in the world!"
