So if you're poor and on welfare according to Ted you should be taxed more and lose your vote.

I wonder where the founding fathers stood on taxation without an ability to vote.

Donnchadha: Three Crooked Squirrels: No American on welfare should have the right to vote for tax increases on those Americans who are working and paying taxes to support them. That's insane.

Americans on welfare get to vote for tax increases? I don't have that right. Lucky Duckies.

A lot of local taxes are voted on by the public -- California is the famous example of this. They vote on any state imposed tax, which never passes, because who votes FOR a tax? and then they wonder why they have no money.

I vote FOR a tax when it comes up on local ballots, because I know it'll be put to good use. Then again, I'm not an uneducated moron (ie fiscal conservative).

don't say you will do x if y happens and then don't do x, it totally destroys your credit (if you ever were credible).

I agree. Until Ted Nugent kills himself he is no longer credible.

if he strikes himself down, he shall become more credible than we can possibly imagine.

Ever explain that the american revolution was started because a government wanted to balance its budget*? That London just figured more people should have "skin in the game". It's like putting baking soda in a jar of vinegar.

*basically.

Does that mean he's going to keep welfare? What a socialist bum!

Every time Ted Nugent opens his pie-hole, I'm compelled to illegally download every one of his songs from Pirate Bay, just so that I can erase the whole folder.

Privatize Social Security for those under 55, simply buy private insurance for medicaid and medicare people like Switzerland does via block grants to states, eliminate all income taxes and introduce national sales tax so everyone pays including nonprofits and churches, consolodate all the dozens of welfare agencies into one program and require those who sign up also sign a waiver of their adulthood so they can't vote and a gov't appointed parent is assigned to be their guardian.

Linux_Yes: Why not?

Ten Nugent is wealthy enough to not need SS, Medicaid, Medicare, etc, and none of his friends are on welfare. and he certainly wouldn't be caught dead hanging around anyone in the bottom 50th percentile. or the bottom 98th percentile for that matter. and besides, he needs more tax cuts. they're so sweet!

welcome to the Republican Party. Where the ability to think of anyone besides yourself does not exist.

I doubt very much that he is a member of those above the 98th percentile. He would be moderately wealthy, enough so that he would never have to worry about money. But not super rich.

The French can't hear you, they're busy with their 5 weeks of vacation and 35 hour work weeks.

You have an interesting idea of what's a vacation:

[blogs.reuters.com image 300x234]

I went to France during the rioting. It was wonderful. They had armed police on many corners. Felt more safe than most of the time in most cities in the US. My wife and I walked alone everywhere.

You are an idiot who has no farking idea what you are talking.

OOOOH! Look at me! I went on a Eurail trip and saw all the historic preserved European downtowns while ignoring their poor suburbs so that makes me an expert on all of the countries that I went to because there is no way class and racial divisions in other countries could differ from America!!

But don't worry, you really are an expert on all that is "European", because we all know the Champs Ellysee is exactly like a Banlieue.

Just wondering: Are you just butt hurt that you got called out on how you don't like living among the poor or are you really that stupid? I'm invoking Poe's law here.

And BTW - So you think a racist police state is the way to run things. Well, at least you are willing to show your true liberal face - I'll give you that.

LIBS LIBS LIBS LIBS LIBS LIBS LIBS!

Try looking at the world with your own eyes, listening with your own ears, and thinking with your own brain once in a while.

And fire all cops and close all prisons, releasing the inmates. It's all just psychological welfare for sacred white people, and I can't afford the tax burden anymore. Why shouild I pay to protect your soft, pale ass? Protect your own self - that's why we got a second amendment.

Well there is that quote about how democracy lasts exactly as long as it takes for the public to figure out they can vote to get free stuff from the public treasury.

A system where no one who receives a benefit from public expenditures is allowed to vote for anything that allocates those expenditures certainly would nip that one in the bud.

It wouldn't just be welfare people though. Defense contractors. Military. Too big to fail banks. Farmers who take subsidies. Federal employees of all sorts.

It would would have interesting consequences. Starship Troopers except citizenship comes from self-sufficiency instead of service.

The practical aspects of implementing it would be impossible, though. The money would just get funneled through extra layers of shell corporations and contractors to shield the people enjoying the public money from the label of non-citizen.  What if you work in a McDonalds in the commissary of a military base? The politicians would structure the details of the law such that only the poor people can't vote and all the fascism style corporate collaborators would be immune. All the federal employees would be done though contractors.

To take Nugent's "argument" to its logical extreme, only billionaires should be allowed to vote, since it's totally insane for people who are not billionaires to have a say in how they get taxes.

Let's also stop the insanity by suspending the right to vote of any American who is on welfare. Once they get off welfare and are self-sustaining, they get their right to vote restored.

Sounds like a 'poll tax' to me asshole... Besides, what do you consider "welfare"? Is it Unemployment? I was out of work when the election occurred because my job decided to pull a bunch of shifty bullshiat. I was actively looking for work, which is a requirement, despite what the voices in your head tell you, and I am now re-employed.

So in other words, you draft dodging shiat smearing freak: Fark you and the horse you rode in on, I had every right to vote and I farking exercised that right, so eat a farking dick. You are nobody to try and take away my rights just because I can't blather and get paid for it like you.

Those two are way higher up the pecking order than Nugent. You need to equate him with someone of similar musical influence who has also been a has-been since the 1970s.

So let's hear what Leif Garrett, Patrick Hernandez, Vicki Lawrence, Sean Cassidy and Roger Voudouris have to say. Of course anyone listed is likely to be intellectually and morally superior to diaper boy.

I don't know why but I find Ted Nugent to be even more loathsome than the likes of Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.
