Maybe Mr. Allen Sr. can report back on whether or not Al Davis is spinning like a top.

I was at the game on Sunday. The Coliseum was maybe 65% full. Almost all of the top deck was empty, and there were other empty patches throughout the stadium. It was pretty sad. So maybe it was more like 55% full. Either way, pathetic.

So you didn't miss much. Carson Palmer through a timely interception during what could have been the game winning drive, nothing new.

Was a Raider season ticket holder for 10+ years, including trips to LA. What's pathetic is to pay exorbitantly overpriced tickets, food and beer for what is essentially a worse view of a game than what you can get on TV. Yet, somehow my tax dollars are spent upgrading a stadium that I'm not allowed to see on said tv. If it's so much better to see live, they'd have no problem selling tickets. If not, they need to come up with a better incentive to fill seats. ie cheaper tickets, better amenities, open more farking entrances, let me bring my own food, I could go on and on

Not to mention, the stadium is a hole. Been there three times in the last year (two A's games and a Raiders game), and haven't been impressed.

Eh, the base is pretty solid at the skill positions. For all of Tom Heckert's supposed foibles, he drafted pretty well. Now we'll see if Banner screws it all up by bringing Mike Lombardi back in the fold...

4 (count 'em, 4) Raiders fans beat the sh*t out of me in 2000 after I told them to shut up and head for the airport. They were talking so much trash about my team and my city that after 30 minutes or so of being in earshot I just couldn't take it anymore. The Raiders had also broken my quarterback's ankle in the game, and they gloated about that, too.

4 dudes. Against one 5'11, 175lb. guy. They sent me to the hospital in pretty bad shape.

So as a result, I developed a deep hatred for a team I had not had an opinion of prior. But I have to tell you - after the decade you guys have had, starting with your center freaking out in Tijuana, I almost feel sorry for you.

Almost.

/yes, I know not all Raiders fans are like those guys, but I'm required to hate the Oakland on principle.

What do you think about Shurmur and Weeden? Those will be the burning questions... I'd tend to opt for stability right now, but us Browns fans are used to a big shakeup every year to get excited about... Maybe thats our problem.

Nope. Thing is, I wasn't yelling or anything. Just letting them know that I didn't appreciate their obnoxiousness that seemed never ending. I can understand if I were drunk and walked into the middle of them and called them p*ssies, but that's not how it went down.

So no, I'm not keeping quiet for anyone. If I sometimes get my ass handed to me already carved and on a platter, so be it.

At this point Shurmur has to stay. He's getting better as a coach every week. The team is playing hard for him. It's also critical that they keep Jauron as part of the package. Shurmur is learning on the job and has made mistakes, but he IS learning and I hope they stick with him.

I didn't believe in Weeden at all and felt Colt deserved a chance with some talented players around him. So far it looks like I was wrong, but the case isn't settled yet. He has been improving all year long as well. He's good at checking through his reads, has a great arm, is more mobile than expected and seems to have shaken his habit of staring at his primary receiver. His grades have improved pretty steadily throughout the season. That being said, the transition to the second year is usually the make or break time for QB's in the NFL so I retain some skepticism.

BTW, how frigging great was the call for the second consecutive QB keeper on fourth down? That's some good old "we will beat you at the line of scrimmage" type stuff.

The next step, of course, is to make that same call when it's a handoff to Richardson. That's the most critical thing he needs to learn how to do: Get that 1 yard when everyone in the building knows you're getting it.

/5 yards a carry on 1st and 2nd down is a sign of a good back.
// 2 yards a carry on 3rd and 1 is a sign of a great back.

Some are decent. I had a landlord who was a Raiders fan and he's actually a decent guy. I also had some Raiders fans stop and give my car a jump (and they smoked me out while we were doing that) in Mission Bay while I had a Chargers hat on.

They're not all evil. Some of them, yes, but at least they're not NJ Devils fans.

The first run of Art Shell wasn't bad; got an AFC title game and was usually the team that did ok despite ALWAYS shooting themselves in the foot. His second go-round... not so much.

The Browns have actually been fairly competitive this year. No one has straight up embarrassed them (I consider losing by 3 possessions or more embarrassing).
