So Vlad_the_Inaner gave the best and most valid nutritional advice I've heard yet. Don't Eat People. Not only too many prions, full of toxins.

Sure. Skip out on fats that the species has had millions of years of evolution developing a digestive process for.

Instead eat lots of carbs from domesticated plants, with a mere 10K-20K year exposure.

Neolithic agricultural revolution traded off food security for dietary usefulness.

But its healthy. (right)

/undomesticated plants are full of poisons, except for parts they want to have eaten (like fruit to spread seeds). Plants = dangerous
//most poisonous animals (different than venomous) concentrate their poison from plants. Example, puffer fish. Danger free fugu if you raise them on your food, not wild food. Animals in general are made out of food
///skip people. Too many prions

meat0918: Eat food.

Not too much.

Mostly plants.

Plants are not food. Plants are what food eats.

An 80g portion of fresh coconut flesh can count as one of your seven a day, but, very unusually for a fruit, it's astonishingly high in saturated fat.

That's because it's a nut, not a fruit. IT'S RIGHT THERE IN THE NAME.

AbbeySomeone: pute kisses like a man: phew, thought they were going to say something bad about bacon

/ on a 'add bacon to most things' diet. it all started one day when i ran out of olive oil. just replaced olive oil with bacon fat. and, according to my selective research, it's pretty much just as good for you.

I like to lightly steam Brussels Sprouts and sautee' them in bacon grease with black pepper.

many vegetables belong in bacon fat. i like to smother greens in bacon fat. you know what. i think it should be renamed bacon oil... or, even better: huile de cochon!

vpb: Did anyone ever say that couscous was good for you? It's pasta.

I had the same reaction: "Who's Mom serves you this stuff?" Then I realized the article is from Austria. They eat weird stuff up there.

And the suggested alternatives suck.

Instead of couscous, eat quinoa.
Instead of apple and other common fruit juices, drink berry juices. (Similarly high in sugar, but more nutrient dense).
Instead of iceberg, eat romaine, or spinach, kale, chard, etc.
Instead of cottage cheese, eat low-fat cottage (not as disgusting as you'd think, if you're already ok with eating curdled milk).
Instead of mackerel, eat salmon.
I don't know what you'd eat in place of coconut; you eat coconut for the taste and to fight aggressive blockage. Maybe some Colon Blow.

It has also occurred to me that that is six items, not five, so double fail.

FTA In regards to lettuce "Alternatively, wilt leaves to make it easier to eat more of them." gah, wilted greens have a horrid texture and consistency in my opinion.

They also knock coconut but coconut is awesome. Milk, Water, and Oil are all very useful and tasty. Mmmmmm coconut oil popped popcorn. Also useful if you need a horse.

AbbeySomeone: My Mom never said any of that was good subby. You lie.
I made an attempt at being all Paleo last year and one of the recipes was for cocnut oil mayonaise. No, it was absolute sh*t so don't try it at home boys and girls.

Any diet that recommends people eat coconut oil mayonnaise should be suspect. Also any diet recommended by Crossfit

Article fails to mention coconut's other health "benefit", the fact that it can have an often violent laxative effect on some people.
