mat catastrophe: karmachameleon: So what was your reason for denigrating "The Muppets" and Pixar films in a way that called attention to yourself?Because someone said that Disney did good work with the Muppets property. I don't think they did. I think it was a film that hid a ton of flaws behind a lot of feel-good nostalgia. It was an inferior retelling of The Muppet Movie, and while that film relied on some of the same tongue-in-cheek/self-aware humor about its existence, there was really no reason other than sheer laziness to stretch that concept as far as they did in the new one. It made the entire thing feel forced and unfortunate.
mat catastrophe: A thing which parodies itself isn't funny, and it isn't "doing a nice job" with the material. It's sad. It was a painfully bad movie that used nostalgia to blind people my age and older to that fact and ironic-faux nostalgia to blind the hipster set.
tlchwi02: they've done a nice job with...the muppets
yves0010: dj_spanmaster: Sultan Of Herf: dj_spanmaster: That's good, the Rebellion didn't start until Episode IV: A New Hope.Technically it was already going by then, the movie picks up during the Rebellion...[i.qkme.me image 625x470]If you played the Forced Unleashed games. You get to see the rebellion being formed.
