They should just let love rule.

I was hoping, when I first heard about this project, that they would get either a good actor or a good singer (truly wishful thinking: both) for the the role of Gaye.

Instead, they are offering Kravitz, who is neither.

I has a sad.

Who did you have in mind? Anyone that's still alive?

I think Curtis Mayfield could pull it off - but he's dead and I think I'd rather see his biopic anyway.

Actually, I think Tyler Perry would do a good job with it, he's a pretty good actor and has experience in musical theater.

And get Don Cheadle for Mayfield (I would suggest Courtney B. Vance, but his voice is too deep)

Apparently, Gaye III and Kravitz grew up together and still remain friends to this day. The late singer's sing intends to "talk to [Kravitz] about why he would do this."

That's some fine journalism work there, Lou.

Tyler Perry would require any such project to be renamed so as to mention his name three times or more in the title.

When is the entertainment industry going to quit shoving this talentless cum stain in our faces?

So does that mean Lenny Kravitz has to shoot Marvin Gaye's son now or something?

Jesse Martin (of Law & Order fame - Det. Greene) would be perfect for the role, at least in appearance. I've always thought he could pull a perfect Marvin, if indeed he can act (I have no idea - only seen him in L&O).

Anyway, thanks, subby, for reminding me of the 4GB (FLAC) of Marvin I haven't listened to in a while. No better way to wind down the night.

Bull farking shiat. Every single one of songs are bland, idiotic, garbage. All he ever does is whine about how no one likes him and what a "hard" life he supposedly had.

Fark that crybaby hipster douche.

I haven't heard a lot by him, but I like Are You Gonna Go My Way. I don't recall too much whining or crying in that song, but what do I know?

You know, as much as I love Marvin, I'd rather see Cheadle in a Mayfield biopic than anyone in a Marvin Gaye film.

/It would have to open in Brooklyn in 1990, and then move back and forth from there.
