yeah, we know. Bill won't touch this turd. Yeah, yeah, Garfield and all, but you know what? I bet he would voice a CGI animated movie. They should just do that.

frepnog: and then I saw it. I will tell you this - people that LIKE GB2 must have been shown a different film than I saw, because the GB2 I saw was farking terrible and an affront to the original. That is the only thing that I can think of when people say "i liked GB2" or "hey, GB2 holds up!". Because friends and neighbors, GB2 is pure excrement.

Yeah I was a kid too when I saw it and even then I thought it was retarded. Bill was sleepwalking through it, Ernie Hudson, who was the "sensible" one in the original (when someone asks if you are a god you say YES!) was a joke, much like what they did to Marcus and Sallah in Indy 3. And the Statue of Liberty thing was just stupid. Yes, I know but somehow the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man makes more sense than a walking Statue of Liberty powered by slime. The villain was kind of cool I guess.

the entire plot was stupid. the people of new york being assholes causes this slime shiat, and if every one claps, tinkerbell will live. i mean what. the. fark. if was possibly one of the worst movies ever, made even worse because the original is just that damn good. it is one of those films that is soooo bad, that there is no possible way that they DIDN'T know it was that bad - which means that they basically shiat in my eyes and ears on purpose and said "you will see it because ghostbusters".

Mr_Ectomy: Rev.K: Nabb1: Me neither, and "2" was plain awful.

After several re-watches, 2 actually does have some redeeming qualities.

But it's no original Ghostbusters, that's for sure.

I think Ghostbusters 2 is my favourite sequel after Empire Strikes Back

I liked it too,. Not sure why it gets so much hate.

watch it again and then try to explain to me why it is good. I'll bet you money that you can't really do it. I bet you can with empire srikes back, one of the best films to come out of the 80's. But there is just nothing good about GB2, other than the fact that the original cast is pretty much there (mostly obviously wishing they weren't). The script? sucks. the story? sucks. the acting? mostly.... sucks. the movie isn't funny. it stars 2 of the funniest men of the 80's, is a direct sequel to one of the best comedies ever made and is.... not funny. AT ALL. It was a textbook example of "just throw it out there, the name will sell it". Like a turd on a dinner plate, the movie tries to present itself well but just fails because it is a turd on a dinner plate.

I was a GB2 hater for a while, but believe it or not the Ghosbusters video game redeemed GB2. The game is that good!

/seriously, I couldn't believe it myself.

"Venkman, get a stool sample."
"Business or personal?"

"Your Honor, ladies and gentleman of the audience, I don't think it's fair to call my clients frauds. Sure, the blackout was a big problem for everybody. I was trapped in an elevator for two hours and I had to make do the whole time. But I don't blame them. Because one time, I turned into a dog and they helped me. Thank you"

That movie wasn't all that bad. :)

Apos: Agreed. It might have been a magnificent trilogy if the Wachowskis had focused more on a coherent narrative and less on visual effects and quasi-philosophical babble.

Lindelof has that genre covered now, no more need for the Wachowskis.
