Motorcycles don't come with cages. That's a car with a few missing wheels.

It would seem odd to countersteer with a steering wheel.

Besides, where I am going to hookup the drag pipes?

Adding the obnoxious "potato-potato-potato-potato-potato-" sound effects is an option, right?

even at the "low" $14000 I think they will look pretty all sitting on the lot not getting sold.

I don't see the point of having gyroscopes on a two-wheeler. Why not just have a three wheel reverse trike with a wider footprint instead of some complicated balancing act?

Also being stuck with only a driver is too limiting. I think the ultimate minimalist form factor would be a driver and a flex space for cargo or a passenger, something like a hatchback cut down the middle. Hell, even a regular motorcycle can have a passenger if needed!

And if they can truly make it go 100mph+ and 200 miles on charge they should just make an electric scooter or motorcycle and worry about all this other stuff later, once they've made their money. People generally drive shorter trips on motorcycles anyway so the limited range affects it much less than in a car anyway.

If it's electric how can it sound like an overflight of a squadron of a/c-130u's with guns blazing?

This is why Electric Cars are just bullshiat. They're all designed by asshats. Nobody (well ok maybe some people) wants to drive around in a stupid little pod.

1) That's not an attractive anything.
2) That's not at all reminiscent of Tron.
3) $24,000 is too much for that, even as a novelty.
4) Electric? So it can hit 120mph and go 200 mi on a charge? How far can it go at that claimed 120mph?

200 Miles? Did I miss something? Just because you're going 120 mph doesn't mean you somehow warp space...

Going faster will drain the battery faster. So they probably clocked 200 miles going 55mph.

From their website:

Can it carry a passenger?
Answer: Absolutely! In addition to the driver, the C-1 has enough space for an adult passenger and a small bag, or about the same amount of cargo you can carry on a plane.

I don't mind the style so much. I've never been a fan of motorcycles, myself. I'm sure they're thrilling, but I'm not much of an adrenaline junky, and the risks don't seem to out way the benefits. The gyroscopes seem pretty impressive at preventing tip-overs, but I wonder how the frame would hold up in a real impact. I don't think the gyroscopes would do much good in a head on collision. Even for being a first generation model, I think the price tag is still quite high, especially when you're directly comparing it to motorcycles. I would consider it an option if I could A: Test drive it with a passenger to see how it was. Seems like it would be pretty uncomfortable. B: See or get information on actual collision testing, not market videos and C: Buy it at a reasonable high-end motorcycle price.

Hm.

My objection to motorcycles/"Can-Am" style tricycles is the no-protection aspect of things. This gets over that objection.

Agree with above poster regarding complex gyroscopes vs. just make it a trike.

Something like this at a reasonable price would be cool.

Yeah, the Carver/Persu seems like a much better idea that what's in the article.

I ride a motorcycle for the full body experience of a motorcycle. If I want to ride in a car I'll choose something with passenger and cargo space. If I had to get an electric motorcycle, I'd rather have on of these.

/Although previous versions looked better.

Reasons I don't ride a motorcycle: giant cars crushing me to death while their drivers talk on their cell phones. Likelihood that I will screw up and go around a corner too fast

Not reasons I don't ride a motorcycle: it doesn't stay upright at a stoplight

Other than being a bit more aerodynamic, what's "practical" about a Jag's exterior? You think it looks good because you've been told that it looks good.

It's a mode of trandsportation. Alll it needs to do is get you from point-A to point-B with a minimum of trouble and expense.

Motorcycles can be pretty difficult for other drivers to notice even with loud exhaust systems & exposed engines. Imagine what it will be like with silent (electric) motorcycles.

Bisu: Motorcycles can be pretty difficult for other drivers to notice even with loud exhaust systems & exposed engines. Imagine what it will be like with silent (electric) motorcycles.

Although certain people will try to use slogans to convince you otherwise, sound isn't that big of a factor when it comes to noticing motorcycles. Sight is. People tend to zone out while driving and go into a mode where they are just recognizing shapes. They're looking for something with the size and profile of a car. Motorcycles are smaller so they tend to get overlooked. Think of inattentive/distracted drivers as functionally the same as movie dinosaurs. If there's not enough movement, they can't see you.

Lane splitting is (effectively) only tolerated in California. The rest of us don't have that as an issue.

As a California driver in an area with a lot of squids (I've helped clear away a few splats in the last year) I'm not surprised someone with the name CalamitousCrasher is dead-set on whitelining. I used to ride on the East coast and didn't get why it was so abhorred... and then I moved to SoCal and got my first taste of kamikaze riders.

My problem with the original Tron was its ridiculousness... Flynn learns everything he needs to know almost magically, and has this goofy look on his face like he's mugging it because he's in a kid's movie. Also, the music is SOOOO BAD. Wendy Carlos did the music I think, and it's like she doesn't know what a music score should sound like. There are tons of beautiful scores from that era, but her music is like some Igor Stravinsky nightmare.

But the pace of TL is great, the music is great, the eye candy is superb (Olivia Wilde SO HOT!). The movie is dumb as hell. After all, a 386 could not run a magical world full of self-realized artificial intelligences, and the ending with Quorra in the real world makes no sense at all. I would've loved a scene to show up after the credits where the kid goes to have sex with her to discover she's got no sexual organs. Then he barfs on his dog.

My son started watching the Ton: Uprising animated series on DisneyXD and I thought it was a good series. Then I bought a copy of Legacy to watch and he loves it. I really like Legacy and I don't mind watching repeatedly. Are there plot holes? Yeah. Is there some bad acting by the main character? Yeah, but not as bad as Hayden Christensen or half the cast of Twilight.

I think the biggest plot hole was that it seemed the portal was in the arcade. That's where Sam zaps into, seems to be where Kevin appeared, too. Even in the Uprising series, that's where Flynn arrived and departed. When in the end of Legacy, they need to travel to this far corner of the grid to get to the exit portal didn't make much sense, seeing as Flynn was in there every night and doubtful he would have made that trip every time he left the grid.

Olivia Wilde in skin-tight latex is a plus, yes. Especially the scene where she's lounging on the couch.
