Apos: I'd actually never heard of this demented birther until today, but it pleases me to do this:

[i796.photobucket.com image 152x184]

I envy that you've only just now become familiar with Medusa. A couple of years ago she was one of the chief faces in the birther movement, coinciding with the height of the Tea Party. Then, mercy be upon us, she sort of disappeared. Still, I don't mind her resurfacing in the news now and again if it's for smackdowns like this.

What baffles me is how this woman managed to earn her professional degrees. I mean, those require at least a modicum of critical thinking. I know that one can merely be studious - as opposed to genuinely intelligent - and receive law and medical degrees, but this lady is about as sharp I say about as sharp as a sack of dead puppies.

I think her chief flaw is severe vanity. Seriously, look at any photo ever taken of her. She has this would-be porn star facial pose and to hear her talk is to hear someone convinced she has never been wrong about anything, ever, and never will be. That's why she keeps trucking forward despite every judge she encounters laughing at her. It doesn't sink in because in her narcissistic mind it's the world that doesn't understand, not that she might just be wrong. She's not wrong in this instance, you see; the judge must be an Obama supporter.

Very common right-winger trait.

Did anyone ever notice that when Trump did his ridiculous publicity stunt of offering Obama 5 million dollars to a charity of his choice, that the terms of the deal were literally impossible to meet? He wanted Obama college and passport applications and records. Who the hell keeps copies of college and passport applications? Who EVER has access the to originals, as if the government keeps all passport applications in a secret vault somewhere. No they don't, they're entered into the system and destroyed. Trump knows that.

The whole birther movement is beyond infantile.

Glicky: I think the simplest explanation is that she is being paid to do this. It's not expected that she will be successful, but it part of the Noise Machine. And noise she does make.

Well, a big reason why she's hanging around is that the Republican leadership has really done nothing to repudiate her or other birthers. Hell, Romney cracked a "joke" (it's hard to tell with Rmoney) about how no one questions where he was born. Rather than rejecting it outright, they kept giving the Birthers winks and nods.

But even at that, this sort of derp is self-sustaining in the end. Oily Taints has enough people who believe her to stay funded for some time, even if the Republican leadership totally abandons her.

The thing about this 'Taint chick is that she's both a lawyer and an attorney. Both of those require significant schooling, so one might conclude that she is at least somewhat intelligent. How is it possible then for her to come off as such a blithering idiot about this?

The thing is, Trump announced that he had new blockbuster information that would totally change the election. Not a ‶challenge." Information.Very big information." That he would announce fourteen days before the election.

Then, when the day of the announcement came, he does his Dr. Evil-style $5 million challenge instead. That isn′t by any stretch of the imagination information at all, let alone very big information."

No, he had something else ― or thought he did. And then, between his announcement of having big information and his deadline for revealing it, whatever it was fell through. Hard. Leaving him with nothing to announce (whatever it was would′ve been utterly humiliating had he gone through with it, and by then he realized that), so he had to come up with something after all that build-up, thus the lame $5 million challenge.

I strongly suspect that he actually fell for ‶Peter R.′s" hilariously obviously fake ‶Kenyan Birth Video." Peter R. outright said that Donald Trump was one of the people interested in this. You may remember it ― there was a FARK Video article on it. You know, supposedly digitized from a VHS dub of a Super 8mm home movie, despite the fact that Super 8 wouldn′t be invented for over ½ a decade after Obama′s birth? Never mind that that was one awfully big (looked to be at least three months old) and dark-skinned (even full-blooded black babies are pale when newborn) ‶newborn." And the Sharpie-penned chart and calendar (Sharpie™ pens hadn′t been invented yet either). And the wrong flag pen on the doctor (Kenya wasn′t a Republic yet and was still using the flag of British East Africa at the time). And the amazingly repetitive 8mm-like dust and scratches. And so on, and so on, and so on.

Anyone got any other explanations for those known aspects of Trump′s behavior regarding his planned announcement?

As for Orly, we know for a fact that she fell for a hilariously obvious hoax of a Kenyan birth certificate, and tried to submit it as evidence in court.

Either way, kudos to her.

She needs to keep this going - she cannot possibly earn a living any other way now. There is a segment of the population that will provide substantial monetary support for as long as she keeps this up. A few grand here or there in fines isn't going to make much of a dent in the piles of cash raised to fight the good fight.

/ insert orsonwells_clapping.gif here

Yeah, but how much longer can the cash machine go? Obama has 4 years left, and then he's going away, like all former Presidents do.

What will these people derp about when he's gone?

The close ties between Obama and the next Democratic president.

More than that, she doesn't need to have the route all mapped out now - she's pulling in cash, probably stocking most of it away, and she'll cross the "what to do next" bridge when she comes to it. At the very least she'll have a incredibly valuable list of names, addresses, emails, etc. of angry and easily dupable folks with more money than sense. That's a valuable asset right there.

"This is really a very sad state of affairs," Taitz wrote on her website. "I feel that the nightmare of the Soviet Union is back in full force."

Build a little vacation camp outside Nome, Alaska and send her there. She'll get to feel oppressed, plus she'd be screaming "SEE?!?!" and no one could hear her.

Other people say stupid shiat about Obama turning the US into the USSR, but this farking lunatic should know better since lived in the Soviet Union until she was 21.

Taitz, now 49, was born in the Soviet-controlled Moldova in 1960, to two science teachers. She grew up skeptical and disdainful of the government there.

"There were very few attorneys," she recalled. "And I believe the main reason was because it was pointless, absolutely pointless to go to court and try to uphold the constitutional rights of citizens against the regime. Everything was predesigned, pre-decided for you. And people who tried to go against the regime ended up in gulag. I had a great-uncle who was in gulag, who was sentenced for 10 years."

"Crank" is a pejorative term used for a person who holds an unshakable belief that most of his or her contemporaries consider to be false. A crank belief is so wildly at variance with those commonly held as to be ludicrous. Cranks characteristically dismiss all evidence or arguments which contradict their own unconventional beliefs, making rational debate a futile task, and rendering them impervious to facts, evidence, and rational inference.
Common synonyms for "crank" include crackpot and kook.

Not too far from the truth. This whole Birther movement was started by another PA lawyer Phillip Berg who has a history of supporting himself by filing ludicrous, poltically-charged lawsuits and then setting up legal defense funds to pay for the cost of litigating them. He appears to be a legitimate grifter-that is-he knows the suits are crap, but dear god how the money rolls in. Taitz seems to be a bit more a true believer (read crazy) who started helping him pro-bono on the suit until she discoered just how much money Berg was making and decided to go into business for herself, despite being a "lawyer" in the most technical sense of the term only

It's really sad to me that a practicing lawyer actually has to be told that potato is not a legal argument.

I would feel less worse if I thought she was just a sleazebag scammer. But she seems legitimately crazy.

And to those wondering how she got her legal degree, I am guessing she got it when she was less crazy. On a serious note, for many people, mental issues get worse over time. Like diaper astronaut lady, they may have been high functioning and sane when they were younger, but then somewhere along the line wires get crossed and they end up in the court room arguing potato. I doubt she could do the same kind of work now that she did then, as her mental functioning has probably declined.

She's crazy, with zero insight into how distorted her reality is. This kind of upside-down thinking is common for people like her.

"Your opposition will constitute Obstruction of Justice, Aiding and Abetting in the elections fraud in forgery and treason in allowing a foreign citizen to usurp the U.S. Presidency with an aid of forged IDs and usurp the civil rights of the U.S. citizens," Taitz wrote in an email to Botterud ahead of their court date. "At any rate your opposition and your attempt of intimidation and your allegiance or lack of allegiance to the United States of America is duly noted. Just make sure not to forget to bring with you Mr. Obama's application, registration, and financial aid application."

She's also dangerous. This statement borders on a threat of some kind, vague of course, but I'm sure she meant to imply that failure to satisfy her would place the college's counsel on some kind of "list". People as crazy as her gain real power all the time, ans use it in horrific ways.

On one hand, she is clearly nuts and I wish would go away.

On the other hand, she is clearly nuts and I love the fact that she keeps the stupidity of Tea Partiers alive and in the presss.

I say, let her keep going. Every time she gets slapped down and the stories hits the wires, yes, it may inspire other wingnuts. However, it also puts another dent in the armor of the ridiculous birther claim movement. Trump has also achieved that status.

So let her blather on as she sees fit. It is obvious that she is being allowed (to the extent of the law) to bring these frivolous cases to court. She will just get batted down and have to start all over again.   And apparently, she is too delusional to figure it out.

And as long as I am on the subject of stupid Tea Partiers, let us not forget the scientific dictum, "there's no fixing stupid"..

seems just ludicrous on its face."
