gopher321: Does anyone actually use Old Spice? I mean, apart from dads who get those gifts from their kids and have no choice? Whatever happened to classic scents for men, like Bay rum?

/rambling

Old Spice is a bit of a tricky one - most women I know think of it as a "creepy uncle" scent, they're reminded of "Uncle Frank" who always wore a semi-transparent short-sleeved dress shirt with a visible wifebeater underneath.

So usually, it's a turn off for them. However, every once in a while you'll run into a woman who was molested by Uncle Frank, so to them Old Spice may as well be ruhypnol. They're like putty in your hands.

AverageAmericanGuy: Actually, even soap and shampoo are sold to us as if they were in any way healthy or good for us. They are not.

These things strip our bodies of their protective outer layer of oils. By doing this, not only does our skin dry out and hair become brittle and lifeless, but it exacerbates the various odors that the human body will emit in order to recover from this stripping.

Wiping the body with lukewarm water on a hand towel and an occasional rinsing of hair under cool, running water is enough to clean on a semi-daily basis. Any more than that, or using chemicals like soap or shampoo or deodorant, is unhealthy.

So is not having sex.

On average men born without a sense of smell had two sexual partners, compared to ten for a normal male.

Ten is the average?

You could smell as bad as Donald Trump's bumjuice but if you look like this, you're in.

If you stepped out of my shower looking like that, you could smell like an open cesspool.

br0g: I have a strong sense of smell, and I can assure you it does not help my relationship.

Yep -- it is both a curse and a blessing. Not gonna get smothered by a gas leak, but not gonna go face down on a sweaty hoo-hah either.

Many people don't realize they either have B.O. issues or need to slack off on the fragrance. If I can smell you in either case from arm's length, you need to deal with it.

We have a gal at work that is so offended by poop and fart smells that she douses the ladies room with air freshener every time she visits, turns on the poop fan and closes the men's room door if one of us has been in there long enough to make a turd, and has 2-3 candles and / or air fresheners running WFO in her office at all times. Did I mention she applies perfume with a ladle ??

She has no farking clue that her concealment is 10x worse than what it attempts to conceal, and all fingers point at her when she applies the concealment.

Are you my old roomie? He said the same shiat and he smelled horrible on a regular basis. After PT he'd wipe down with a warm washcloth and our barracks room regularly smelled of ass and foot. And rinsing your hair with just cool water will still leave greasy nasty buildup and a bad smell. You likely smell bad and you should feel bad.

I wear their Fiji deodorant. It has a high aluminum content and is a good antiperspirant. And it's a solid, the gel ones make me burn. Oh, and I like how it smells. So does my girlfriend.

If that's the case then I wish my wife would smell more like a stripper. I like that nice stripper smell.
