I hope they don't bother with any cliff hangers this year, because they never resolve them.
I thought for sure that Nucky would blow a fuse, if not kill his wife for giving away the land that the highway was going to built on

Especially considering how many episodes it was mentioned in, the massive money involved, and the Secretary of the interior being involved.

He did get pissed. In fact in the opener for this season, it's clear that the land really farked up their relationship and that he would rather biatch slap her than anything. It's been the motivation behind every non-mob thing he's done this season, it's been his way of getting even with her. I mean he's spent most of the season prior to Owen's death laying hints with her and Owen that he knew something was up.

Gillian thinks she can control all men. She got it wrong with Jimmy and she REALLY got it wrong with Richard Harrow.

Why anyone keep working for Gyp Rosetti? Say one thing wrong and he ses you on fire. The guy who watched his cousin's head being turned into a smashed pumpkin is Gyp's #1 guy now! Now we know where Steve Jobs got his management skills.

His final line in last week's episode is probably my favorite Boardwalk moment ever.

We need a scene where Harrow and Capone bulldoze through a house full of thugs together, Oldboy-style.

Last season was really great, and I'll know after tonight whether this season was just as good, or possibly better. Having Nucky on the ropes, and the self-destructive chain of events that led to him being there, has been fascinating shiat.

I was a little disappointed in the ending. It would've been funnier if Harrow took out Gyp, rifle round to the head while he was taking a piss. Gyp's head could've burst, his face exploding into little pieces, roll credits then and there.

I enjoyed this seasons ending. Wrapped most everything up nicely.
I will say this, I have come to enjoy many of the actors and actresses that have appeared in this series. I think HBO does a really good job with casting for all its shows. I think the actors that have portrayed Arnold Rothstein, Lucky Luciano, and Mickey Doyle have made their characters very entertaining. The man who played Arnold Rothstein was also in Men In Black 3 playing a role completely opposite but absolutely the best thing about that movie.
I wish there was more Micky Doyle and I would love to put my vote in for that actor to play the Riddler if there is another Batman movie. Harrow needs his own show. Just my two cents.

This show has gotten abysmal. This entire season was a waste up until the last three episodes. I can't believe how far the show has fallen. Granted, that's what you get when you make someone OTHER than the main character the most interesting person on the show, then kill him off at the end of the 2nd season.

It got more interesting yes, but it isn't exactly what I'd call a stellar season or finale. The side stories weren't really that interesting (the bootleggers, Lucky and the heroin, etc) and so many episodes just felt empty. I hope they can fix this show in season 4, because the first 2 seasons were epic.

Loved it.

While the show really could go on forever (and I'd be a rapt viewer through it all), I mildly hope the rumblings of next season being the last are true.

I do love that the show only rarely doesn't upend expectations. Harrow could have delivered the "Lady" Darmody unto her maker but didn't.

I wonder if both will survive to see next season. We never did explicity see her death nerve twitch. Just her mentally regressing to the night she was raped by the Commodore.

Also just kinda bummed that Van Alden, er Mueller wasn't seen. He must have been to busy essaying Zod.

Still, it stands neck-and-neck with Breaking Bad as my favorite dramatic show currently being aired.

That's my thought as well. Perhaps we'll see her sent to the afterworld by Mr. Harrow after all (actually, I hope he finds peace and happiness and a semblance of a normal life with Julia and Tommy and never needs to kill again.). Actually, perhaps it will be young Tommy. I hope not. I hope she spends the rest of the show dwelling on how she came to be the person she is and finds some closure and repents and is never in any position to inflict harm on anybody.

Nah, she'll always be bent and will die a horiible self-inflicted (in cause if not in directly-by-hand) death. Know the type too well.

I thought it was the best season of the three (and I didn't think last season could be bettered).

I just hope the quality level stays as high. If it does, I'll watch it in its 15th season.

I suspect next season will be verrrry interesting with the ramifications of the double-crosses from this season and Nucky's full descent into Gangsterism (as symbolized by his discarding of the flower.)

Yeah, it was a big hit of heroin. So long as she doesn't choke on her own puke she can probably make it. I'm just curious if she'll wind up with a big monkey on her back because of this next season.

StrikitRich: I knew Nucky was giving up the distillery way too easily. Wonder if he was plotting to use it to set up Rothstein from the beginning?

I doubt it. He set that deal up to get the distillery way before he asked AR for help. I do wonder what Mellon's play in all of this is...

I'm also torn with Owen Sleater. The whole love affair thing reminded me of Furio from the Sopranos way too much. But I did like him.

2012-12-03 08:20:14 AM
I just hope they keep Mickey Doyle around for the entire run... he provides way too much troll value based on how badly the rubes on Twitter and the like hate his guts. I seriously want the series to end with him running AC.
