Today at Wizard World they gave Michael Rooker some Maker's Mark before the panel. Unfortunately it didn't liquor him up enough to spill any beans. Though he did do an impression of Norman Reedus because Norman was late getting to the show and someone asked a Darryl question so Rooker responded for him.

Merle knows how to run a Q&A.

This!

I suspect the rescue squad will make it into Woodbury and they will find Glen and Maggie, beaten, but not broken. They will have inadvertently lead a wave of zombies to Woodbury (from the shack) giving them an unexpected, but very useful distraction. Merle and/or Andrea will confront Darryl and/or the rescue squad as they try to make it out of the fray and...CLIFFHANGER!

My prediction is that Two-Dog dies in exchange for a popular black character from the comic joining Rick's crew.

I'm guessing in the event of a zombie apocalypse, people will end up being rather resourceful as a matter of survival.

I'm going to side with a suspension of disbelief and not quibble about the minor technicalities. Maggie had the line that sums things up the best: "All this time running from walkers, you forget what people do, and always did."

Homemade? I always assumed that those were actual silencers picked up at the prison. Why a prison would have silencers is beyond me...

They had them at the start of season 3, before they got to the prison. The one Rick uses looks like it's made out of a MagLite:

And Carl's looks like part of an aluminum baseball bat:

Ah. Interesting. Yea, that MagLite one looks pretty sweet. I know it wasn't part of the comics, but wish they'd explored that a bit more on the show, how the survivors went all MacGuyver in the post-apocalypse world.

ongbok: MoronLessOff: Nina_Hartley's_Ass: fusillade762: Interesting theory from The Onion TV Club review:

Possibly Loony Theory: Maybe the Governor didn't turn on Merle; maybe this is part of the scheme they were talking about earlier in the hour, when the Governor wanted to use Daryl as a mole against the other prison people. If the Governor can find a way to first make it look like he wants Merle dead, and then find a way to let Merle escape... who knows?

This makes more sense to me than giving up all the tension and ultimate confrontation between the brothers and Merle himself will be the mole.

It's also entirely possible that the Governor legitimately thinks Merle is in cahoots with Rick's crew. He lied about Michone, which nearly got Gov killed, cost him a few of his men and lost him his prisoners.

Nah. He threw Merle under the bus because he didn't kill Michone and lied to him about doing it. As a result he now has a hole where his eye used to be. He can't justify killing Merle to the town by saying he is pissed that he didn't kill an innocent woman and lied to him about it. So instead he says Merle led the terrorist to the camp, and he has the approval of the town to kill him.

Yeah, he needs a scapegoat and Merle has shown himself to be less than 100% devoted to the cause. This way he has someone to blame for the attack and he "eliminates" the threat by killing them.

And if you're a 12 year-old in a world gone to crap, you're going to adapt.

This is like the world gone back to medieval times where kids were taught to hunt, fight, etc. This isn't a world where helicopter parents take their kids to soccer practice in the mini-van and the only thing they have to worry about is getting kicked in the nuts. A 12 year-old would HAVE to learn to protect himself and others if they're going to survive.

Yeah, that was the lone -- huge -- stain on an otherwise good episode. I could almost understand it but for the established Revolving Door of Black People on the show, and the fact they waved it right in the viewer's face by introducing Tyreese as Tyreese in the very next goddamn scene. It was almost an intentional, proud, acknowledgement of the "one black dude" rule.

Seriously, if Tyreese dies when Morgan is reintroduced, I'm done with the show, no matter how much I like it. Eff that in the Bee.

I have a love/hate relationship with where the writers are going with Michonne's character. The writing in the comic was a lot more direct. I agree that the television version of the character is devoid of *that* motivation, but I agree that to be hunted down like an animal would drive someone to try and kill her captors, and the person who sent her captors.

I really want the writers to move away from the silent/brooding archetype and flesh out who she is and why she's that way. They do a little bit of that in the comic, and it made so much sense. She needs more than just the basic survival/ revenge motivations, and maybe we'll see more of that now that she's going to have Tyrese to talk to.

slayer199: Crewmannumber6: Yeah, but having a familiarity of the prison allows Rick dictate the nature of the battle, fighting on the move, drawing the Governors people into bottlenecks and other types of kill zones.

True, but if the governor uses one of the National Guard trucks to breech the perimeter...it will make it very difficult for the Prison crew...they'll have to fight Woodbury AND the zombies.

Exactly. And they've really only been in the prison a couple of days. They don't know the layout and most of it is still full of roamers. Oh, and the entire missing back wall that Tyreese & his group just traipsed on in through. Yes, they have food to hold out but they don't have ammo & weapons--the armory is overrun and hasn't been cleared out. Last episode, it took just one guy to open a gate or two and we lost 2 main characters. What do you think's going to happen when The Governor rolls over the gate w/an M35 Cargo truck & a humvee w/a .50 cal? Against a group w/limited ammo, an old guy w/one leg, an infant, and some 17-yo do-nothing? They don't even have their best shots, Darryl & Andrea.

Nope, consider the prison lost by the end of the season, if not sooner.

Andrea has serious misgivings about the Governor and his depth perception.

Mad_Radhu: Jgok: As to if/when she gets killed off, I wonder if they're going to do the Julie/Chris scene from the comic, but with her and Ben instead?

I don't think we'll see that scene replicated. The whole purpose of that scene in the comics was to establish that anyone who dies reanimates, not just those who were bitten, which the show has already covered with Shane's death. That scene just isn't going to have any impact at all if they do it at this point.

Plus, they've now wiped out the entire prison population except for Axel, so any mystery attached to that plotline is gone.

Or...they fight to the death and Merle dies.

I vote for fight to the death. I'm just getting that vibe.

Wait, it's that easy to sneak into Woodbury? Why haven't the zombies just wandered in themselves?

I am in the minority here, but I just can not stand Michonne, and hope she gets killed off or just goes off and does her own thing.

pivazena: Mad_Radhu: pivazena: Andrea has two shirts with 5 on them? One is a one-off, but two... I definitely think she's going to be the next one rick kills.

Also Michonne is a biatch

Nah, she just frowns on people's shenanigans.

But she doesn't explain a damn thing! How much better off would everybody be if they just TALKED to each other?!

It`s like Lost. Only with more zombies.

serial_crusher: This whole "midseason finale" concept makes me stabby

Make perfect sense to me. You want to debut the show around Halloween, but if you do a normal length season, you eventually wind up hitting the holidays, and then NFL playoffs, and then Superbowl, which is going to kill ratings for a show that airs on Sunday evenings. In exchange for the show continuing to get ratings that can justify continued zombie carnage on screen, I don't mind them taking a few months off to avoid the conflicts. It's also way better than the shiat that they pulled with Breaking Bad, and the weird assed Doctor Who scheduling of the last few seasons.

I did not object to the scene with her and the governor last week. She has nice sideboobs.

I'm wondering if that's why Maggie was growled-stripped by the Governor instead of the anticipated gangrape room. There's just so much that the audience will stand for, and I'm not talking about rapey-rape on basic cable. And since I have to include myself in ragequit crowd, I'm okay with this.

But even with flashes of of the anticipated greatness of the character, Michonne has just been okay compared to the hype.

The big story has been Carl. One offscreen shot has elevated him from early-Wesley/Adric status to Big Bad MutherKIlla Carl.

Oh, and Lori is dead.
