Frankly, I wouldn't care if she shoved it up her butt and walked on her hands.

Wait until she finds out what Obama has done for funding various programs that assist soldiers, or how the GOP held her benefits hostage to play politics. Of course, Limbaugh will never let her hear about any of that.

/if you're in the military and vote Republican these days, you're an idiot
//then again plenty of poor white people on food stamps vote Republican, so I guess you can't fix stupid

Several people did this when Bush was re-elected, however I don't recall seeing any news stories about it.

True, but they don't have many Kenyan socialist usurpers up there.

Ah yes. Right wingers aren't crazy, it's just that there's a MSM conspiracy to make them look bad.

I give it less than 24 hours before someone above her in her chain of command figures out who she is from where that picture was taking, and then she will learn all kinds of realities about respecting the flag, the office, and the country, even if you're not too personally enamored of the man.

She has her right to free speech. She doesn't have to agree with the views of the sitting president. She can also leave if she cannot do a satisfactory job.

/I don't think I would trust someone in the armed forces who feels any opinion stronger than, "It was an election, the other guy won. I seriously don't agree with the views of this president, but that is my opinion out of many. I possibly could be missing something the others don't see."

Whereupon she'll start screeching about the First Amendment, then Fox News will start screeching about the First Amendment, and Rushbo will start screeching about the First Amendment, and the Freepers will start screeching about the First Amendment, and the fwfwfwfwfwfw: will start screeching about the First Amendment....

Sigh.

If I was in the military and had the colossal good fortune to be posted in Copenhagen while there were actual shooting wars still going on I think I'd be so quiet that I'd creep out ninjas and keep my head so far down I'd be on the cover of ostrich textbooks.

If it was the real Copenhagen, I might agree even more. But yes, she gets to do her job and see her family. I know some people who wouldn't mind switching with her at least for a month or more.

No, she doesn't. At least not where her chain of command is concerned. That's not free speech, that's insubordination. And last I checked, you can't 'just leave' the military. In fact, that's one of the things they're most known for, eh?

If there were no stories, how do you know it happened?

This isn't exactly the leading story on NBC Nightly News. It's just an article that's easy to miss. The internet is also a far broader source of news than it was in 2000. If people were hanging flags upside-down (which is entirely plausible), you probably just missed what little coverage there was.

I have a number of family members who I no longer can speak to.
Reagan, bush, bush - You MUST respect the office of the presidency and how DARE you say anything negative or question the president, ESP while we are at war!!!!
clinton - obama - Death to the terrible demorat traitor presidents!!!!

so yah,
after 16 years of insults, I am just done with these people.

2012-12-02 02:15:32 PM
I'd hang my flag upside down too (if I had a flagpole)...but it would be a commentary on the dangers of large portions of people in the military holding their allegiance to a single party instead of the Constitutional office of the President.

Freedom of Expression or a Step Too Far?

Um...both?

Of course it's freedom of expression. She is also free to wear a shirt or hang a sign that says: I am a dangerously misinformed, paranoid, conspiratorial asshole

It's pretty much the same thing.

I just love how much someone like this and all her friends are suffering in the face of the President being re-elected.

I truly hope it keeps them up at night.

People rightfully so questioned the legitimacy of bush's election/re-election and felt that he stole it. Obama won in a friggin landslide, theres a difference

That and this is the first time we actually gave a shiat about Copenhagen, NY.

It can't be Copenhagen/Denmark. Denmark doesn't allow foreign soldiers to be posted, Thule/Greenland excepted.

There's a town called Copenyhagen in New York, which is still better than Afghanistan.
