''No matter who I play, it's me''

I read that in Jay Mohr's voice.

This may be the real key to his strange, almost stilted, delivery, alongside the fact that he made an early decision as an actor to wilfully disregard punctuation when reading his lines

pure genius. the way he talks makes everything sound interesting and unexpected. one of my favorite movies with him is still the prophecy, cause he was so terrifyingly calm and normal as the vicious murdering angel. and his dialogue in that was amazingly quotable.

I wish I could live my whole life with cue cards.

awesome

1) Last interview of him I read had him living in Manhattan with his original wife and him going to Mass every day.

2) His first film role was as Annie Hall's brother in 'Annie Hall', not as is implied 'The Deer Hunter'.

Buddy of mine had a bit part in a play with Chrisopher Walken years and years ago. At the end of it's run, there was a party where they had a giant blow up photo of the leading lady. The deal was the cast was all supposed to sign the photos, maybe write a little love you type note. Story is that Chris, being Chris, wrote 'i want to fark you in the ass' in giant letters across her forehead.

I'll bet the real reason is because he doesn't want to be reminded of "A View to a Kill".

Yeah; a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie with Glenn Close: Sarah, Plain and Tall: Winter's End. Alas, no chainsaws or torture scenes.

Taking the point of view that aliens walk among us, Walken definitely qualifies. If he suddenly showed up piloting a spaceship announcing he was going home, no one would be surprised.

Larry King also seems like an alien but he's one of those annoying aliens who eats cats or rats or something.

The highlight of my life will remain getting high with Christopher Walken. I am quite positive I will never do anything remotely as cool as that ever again.

Marshal805: "A View to a Kill".

"A View to a Kill" might have sucked but despite that, Walken was a great Bond villain.

No argument there. He exuded the perfect mix of flamboyance and psychopathy so integral to the role.

I'll try not to make this TL;DR--

Walken did Coriolanus at Shakespeare in the Park in New York in the late 80s. A friend of mine was on the wardrobe crew there and he used to leave messages on her machine all the time inviting her to his place to get high (she wasn't the only one). Another girl who worked there called my friend up while I was visiting and said Walken had just called and invited her over, did we want to come too? He was staying somewhere on the Upper West Side. He was already stoned when we got there, but he was nice enough and not nearly as intense as I thought he'd be, nor did he hit on any of us, he just wanted people to get high with. Plus he bought us a massive amount of Chinese food when the munchies hit. I was kind of left out of the conversation--a lot of shop talk--but I still enjoyed myself.

Also, the author states that "...in another soon-to-be-released film, A Late Quartet, Walken finally gets to play a regular guy...". He played a regular guy in 2002's Catch Me if You Can as Frank Abignale, Sr. His performance in that film was tough to watch, especially the last scene with him in the bar.

Maybe Catch...Can didn't play in England. More likely, Author needs to at least check out Wikipedia before he writes up an interview.

He was a fairly normalish guy in Maiden Heist, also. Even as an old man obsessed with a painting, he was still my DREAM old man obsessed with a painting.
