Random question: do female vets/cadets marrying there have to wear their uniforms or can they wear a regular wedding dress?

This has ruined the sanctity of my marriage. My wife is going to be upset, but I'm going to divorce her anyway and screw a string of 20 year old floozies.

Wow, a gay marriage at West Point.

And as near as I can tell, the world didn't end, the military didn't suddenly mutiny, and there have been no reports of vast crevices opening up in the earth's crust. Who knew.

I don't know-- I got a popcorn hull caught in my teeth and it was mildly annoying. I blame the gays.

Go for it. That's what I did after the first marriage and my penis was very happy with me. The second one is much better anyway.

FTA: Lesser known fact about West Point cadets: They LOVE weddings. "Say Yes to the Dress" is actually the #1 watched show on campus.

This has GOT to be a troll!

If two lesbians get into a fight, is it trench warfare?

Let me know when they do one of these at the Air Force Academy.

I am a former infantry officer who was commissioned in 1989.
The best female officer I ever knew was gay. Working with her taught me that who you fark is about the least important aspect of millitary leadership.

Good for her. I just hope that the larger American society will learn to accept it.

/ I recently found out that my first platoon Sgt was gay. He was a hardcore MF who kept this young LT. From getting his platoon wiped out in the first gulf war and I'm proud to have served with him.

There are lots of nice, competent gay people and some real asshat gay people as well, just like straight people. It means nothing, thank goodness.

Good.

It's about time West Point produces SOMETHING worth a fark. Especially considering how the officer corps they've produced over the years hasn't won a g'damn thing WORTH winning since WWII.

If it's two guys, one is encouraged to wear a wedding dress. I don't know about two females, though.

That's Ok, she doesn't want you either.
I don't know her or her SO but I tip my hat to both of them. Sue is a strong woman who made sacrifices so other people could have nice things.

And yet, if she had served long enough to earn a military retirement, because the federal government still follows the abortion of a law that is the "Defense of Marriage Act", her spouse wouldn't be eligible for any of the benefits heterosexual couples are eligible for.

LRA61380: Random question: do female vets/cadets marrying there have to wear their uniforms or can they wear a regular wedding dress?

Cadets (male or female) are not allowed to be married (or have dependents*) while attending West Point. So for female cadets the question wouldn't apply. Which is lucky because the female uniforms at West Point are pretty fugly. It doesn't matter how hot your body is, they make you look like you're shaped like a gorilla.

If still in service, officers (male or female) had the option to wear dress uniform but are not required to. If separated from active service, only actual retirees have the option to wear military uniforms. Officers who resign or are separated for other reasons (RIF, resignation in lieu of prosecution, dishonorable or other than honorable discharge) are typically not allowed to wear military uniform. There are exceptions in certain circumstances, but those are the basics.

*At least one cadet got a waiver from the "can't have dependents" rule when his girlfriend either hid or was unaware of her pregnancy and gave birth a few weeks before graduation. The Academy could technically have dismissed him, but since he was unaware until just before the birth AND brought the matter to the attention of his Tac. officer immediately, they let him graduate.

I find it hard to believe that anyone sharp enough for Academy could truly fail to notice or recognize pregnancy.

No. No, we're not. We're going to leave without completely wiping out the Taliban, but the Afghan army and police will be able to handle them; it'll just take 20 years or so for the nutjobs to get tired and quit.

Either you are joking or you haven't paid much attention to the longevity of nutjob groups throughout history or history in general for that matter.
