Here's the pitch:

When Conner Connley was six years old he killed a man...or so he was made to believe.

From that lie is born a lonely life of homeless drifting and hardship on the road. A story at turns heartbreaking and humorous, bleak and then blooming with life, love, and hope.

The Crooked Man's Mile...one man's epic journey to learn the truth and discover himself.

Interesting premise...heading to amazon now. If I don't like it, do you offer refunds?

Going to download it and give it a shot. The last farker book I downloaded was pretty good and I ended up reading it in one night.

I feel kind of dirty installing the Kindle app on my Nook though.

The price is certainly right, thanks for the afternoon's entertainment.

You have better luck than me. The last farker book I downloaded was an "erotic-novel" that was about this sexy:

He penised her harder than any woman had ever been penised. Then, when he was done, he wiped his love juice on her belly roll while she massaged herself with a Tickle me Elmo doll.

Subby here.

I've five novels and a collection of short stories on Amazon and I've already done free promos on a couple here since the new FarkUs tab was created.

Just trying to build an audience, get my name out there, and, probably more than anything, build reviews. Many thanks to those who take me up on the offer. I hope you enjoy the reading.

Just got the download, thanks.

I just finished a book by another Faker. It was alright. I downloaded one from a Farkette-- didn't even make through five pages.

Yes, that's the one! It was really unreadable.

Cool. I zapped it to my Kindle. I'll be happy to write a review when I'm finished, unless it sucks. It better not suck, subby.

I would love a review.... Give me your honest opinion and I can not ask for more!

I have to believe that writer in that case was trying to bring the funny. At least, I hope so. And not to sound too full of myself (subby here) but my writing is definitely well above that.

That was actually me paraphrasing what I read, but it wasn't much better in reality. Even by bad romance novel standards, it wasn't very good. The first explicit sex scene started on page TWO. We found out two characters' names, and then they were banging. Then the "heroine" - if you could call her that - immediately felt unsatisfied and banged someone else for a sense of personal fulfillment. Romance novels aren't really my thing, anyway, but I thought I'd support the Fark author community.

I picked up your book, too. If I like it I'll leave a review on Amazon. If I don't, I won't leave a bad review. If it's in the middle, I'll point out what I liked and didn't like. Book reviews are all subjective, anyway, unless you have glaring errors in the book.

I would greatly appreciate your straight-up review. Love, hate, meh...or in some strange land in-between. Beside making a little scratch, what every writer wants is just to be read...and know how it went.

Otherwise, it's like playing baseball alone in an empty field.

I get that - if it's not a long book, I'll finish it by Wednesday. Look for a review by someone whose location is Hippity Hoppityville. I'll post in this thread if it's still open, but it might not be by the time I finish.

No rush, and thanks in advance just for giving me the chance with your time.

As for knowing who you are by the "Hippity Hoppityville".... Another farker reviewed one of my other books (The Night Watch) after my last promo here, and called me Eric the Fork in the review. Made my day.

I have to do that because in my youth I pissed fark off something good, and my old handle gets an autoban, even if it's mentioned. There's a 50/50 chance my account won't be active tomorrow just because of this post :)

I'll still review the book.
