I'd just be happy if all parties involved would stop squabbling and release the TV series on DVD or Blu-ray.

Ralph Garman is plotting to steal it, I'm sure.

I insist that it be thoroughly washed first.

By a hot redhead.

Using her ass to buff it.

I saw a replica of the 60s bat mobile in primer going down the road on a transport truck yesterday, so I'm getting a kick, etc.

i've found you will find willing sellers from exotic areas like Australia if you go on eBay and post such things in the 'Wanted" area. they won't sell to you via eBay, they will message you about their web site. from what i've seen it looks like Aussie TV shows all the good stuff without the frickin' Logos all over the screen. the lads down under make up nice sets (bootlegs) and sell them off. this was how i found a source for "Then Came Bronson".

i also got some good bootlegs off eBay. found the trick was Search / Favorite every time I visited teh site. sometimes a Seller will get away posting a bootleg set of The Banana Splits or Duck Man (for example) by listing 1 set available, calling it Used and making it a short sell time auction, like 24 or 48 hours. obviously they avoid the word 'bootleg' as its a no-no.

The original Barris conversion has very poor performance, not really drivable on the street.

I have mixed feelings about the batmobile. I love it for the crazy 60s comedy memories. But I also am sad about the one of a kind Lincoln Futura that was lost to make it.

^^^Yeah, Philosophopher, if I (for the same amount of $$$$) could buy it with my choice of "as Batmobile" or "as 1955 Lincoln Futura," I'd take the latter in a heartbeat.

There were 5 originals, of which Mr. Barris has authenticated about 7.

But if you're looking for the finest replicar on the market, check out the cars that my boss makes:

They aren't cheap, but they're awesome.

That is a wild and sad story. I always thought that Barris built a Batmobile body on a full size Ford like a T-Bird (of the time), Fairlane or Crown Vic.

It is sad that he destroyed a one-off to make a one-off. Nobody had any respect for legacies in the thoroughly modern 60s.
