I blame the Greek economy. With all of the crap its going through, someone must have laid off Zeus.

That's shocking.

Its because of global warming.
Because its gotten hotter, more people stay inside rather than risk getting struck by lightning.

Are people getting smarter? No.
Are people not going outside their homes more? Yes.

I've never heard of a WoW player that got struck by lightning.

I take lightning as proof that life is fundamentally unfair. Either there is no God, or he's just a sadistic SOB, puppies and kittens notwithstanding.

I also wonder if people are less likely to die from a lightning strike these days. Everyone knows to start CPR right away, and if you get the heart restarted, well...

Its because of global warming.
Because its made the winters colder, fewer people go outside and thus don't risk getting struck by lightning.

Does this mean the 'lightning round' is over?

Is this good news or bad news for lottery ticket buyers?

Fricknmaniac: Is this good news or bad news for lottery ticket buyers?

Bad news. Now it's even harder to die by lightning. And of course you have a better chance of being struck by lightning than winning the lottery.

That story was very grounded.

Not as many Republicans left to aim for.

Lightning very seldom strikes IN YOUR MOTHER'S BASEMENT!

So many people get their weather over cable or the web nowadays and don't experience the real thing any more. That's why the news people have to hype everything so much. Because the weather only has a few seconds to capture your eyeballs on a screen unlike back in the good old days of lightning striking you while you are working on the barn roof or cutting timber or climbing a telephone pole to get the cat. Lightning only needs one hundreth of a second to catch your attention.
