What the hell is brown math? Is that like Eddie Van Halen's brown sound, or the South Park brown noise?

Yes, why are we focusing on their color rather than the accomplishment of decoding this mystery book.

Is it remarkable the outliers in history who made some impact also seemed long lived for their eras?

Also, listening to your elders in the past was more pertinent because there were fewer around. Being able to remember sixty or seventy years back could serve you well in an era without much change. In the future it might be useful to have seven hundred year old people who can say "We tried that in oh-eight and it's still not going to work today" and be referring to something that happened four hundred years ago.

I will never for the life of me understand the draw of Calvinism. God has already decided if you're going to heaven or hell. there's nothing you can do about it SO BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR. Or you'll just keep sinning because God can't be bothered to save you. Whatever.

It has a lot to do with logistics.

/First, assume a spherical chicken. Then, crush it, lose it in a warehouse in Jersey for two weeks, then deliver it to Phoenix City, Alabama instead of Phoenix, Arizona, Then drop it over the side fence into the dog bowl.
/How can Brown fark you over?

Because the accomplishment is insignificant.

It's like binary. All numbers are translated into base number two.

If I were him, I'd try to apply for grad school credits for the work. Otherwise, usually the FBI and CIA are on the look-out for students who prove adept at cracking codes.

I wrote an essay on Williams for an American history class in college. He was a really cool dude, and if everyone practiced religion the way he did there would be far less strife in our society.

Eternally damned character.

Seriously, who would convert to Calvinism? It's already a crapshoot that you'll get your dick out of your hand long enough to do something good with your life. Someone comes along to say that, hey, guess what, your afterlife destination is already decided, and they actually expect that to make you behave?

Here is the attraction:

1. God has determined your fate.
2. Therefore there is no use in going to church.
3. Therefore, anyone who nevertheless goes to church MUST be a chosen one.
4. OMG doesn't it feel awesome to imagine ourselves to be superior to everyone else!

How they're arranged is key to their meaning; arrange them one way and you get one word, arrange them another, you get something different
Hmmm... almost like every other writing system...

Would it have been too much to ask for the article to give at least some idea what the writing was about once translated?
