Um, I'm going to put this as kindly as I can.   I'm going to have to ask you to kindly be a little less Jellical.

Thanks, Fark!

For years I had wondered why my psoriasis patches were so odd. My scalp and forehead are completely covered, and the patch goes down the sides of my face, but has never really encroached anywhere on my face proper (nothing on eyes, nose, mouth, cheeks) in spite of not treating it for years. I also have weird bands on my back and stomach where it alternates between being a huge swath of psoriasis and completely normal skin. Turns out these are falling along the stripes. I wonder if it'll help me figure out where future patches might form. . . .

It would be interesting if they had a gene-sensitive pigment that could be activated along these lines.

I have a theory that if humans had stripes and spots and other variations, there might be no racism, provided, of course, that they were inherited like the patterns of cats and dogs, with variation in the same family.

Failing that, Blaschko lines would be good camouflage.

They remind me of Qi lines, although they aren't the same pattern and probably don't provide any evidence for traditional Chinese medicine.

Cool, though.

Speaking of invisible, if you could see in the microwave spectrum, clothes would be invisible and human skin would look metallic, shiney and alien.

We see the Universe through a narrow slit of wavelengths. I wonder what a God's eye view would look like? You'd be able to watch people's skin colour change in the infra-red and know what they were thinking and feeling. STOP THAT YOU NAUGHTY BOY! Slap!

When the blue stripe fades, it's time to replace your human.

These stripes come from our segmented cellular lineage. When a fetus is only a couple of cells, they each divide separately, so for example, at one point your whole liver was a single cell adjacent to the one that would become the intestines. Through cell division, the four dimensional system could be seen as a family tree of cellular lineages with closely related but diverging genomes.

Cells randomly mutate to form all variation, but it's not always evenly spread throughout your body. Some stripe-shaped chunks of skin are more or less prone to psoriasis than their neighbors. It's a huge problem in genetics that we assume any blood sample is representative of the diseased tissue.

In this case, replace disease with tanning propensity and you can have visible striping in rare instances.
For the rest of us the stripes are invisible.

My 8 year old has what we call a birthmark, it's a strip of skin that goes from his front around to his back that doesn't tan nearly as dark as the rest of him. We always noticed it had a weird pattern and wouldn't you know it, it's exactly like one of the lines in the drawings.

Yeah, this is the first thing I thought of. My eczema has only appeared along the Blaschko's lines (at least according to a more detailed drawing I found). I don't have much of it at the moment, but that's still kinda freaky. Must be the skin's weakest points?

Even more impressive is the fact you're apparently posting from the grave :D

(Kitteh-man, alas, is dead, as previously noted--suicide.)

And I actually learned something today re the Blaschko lines--who the hell says Fark isn't educational? :D
