I have only one requirement for this list, and it is on it.

"Oh, no, no, Major... you can't dismiss me that easily. I did what had to be done. My men understood that, and that's why they loved me. I would order them to go out and kill Bajoran scum, and they'd do it, they'd murder them! They'd come back covered in blood but they felt clean! Now why did they feel that way, Major? Because they were clean!"

Though I never considered 17 People a bottle episode.

That was a really good episode of DS9.

I was going to say they are counting dramas only, but an episode of Friends is there.

/Meh, it's an Internet list.

Joel McHale is in way too good of shape to be that funny.

I would imagine "No Exit" is a more appropriate bottle episode for TWW than "17 People."

I've heard The Drumhead referred to as a bottle episode. I'd add it to the list.

Yeah, no Seinfeld episodes on the list is rough. "The Chinese Restaurant" might be the king of bottle episodes.

On another note, I came for "Remedial Chaos Theory" and I left happy that it got a mention.

Older and Far away - Buffy

or

Out of Gas - Firefly

I'm not all that familiar with the restrictions on a 'bottle episode', but I'd think "Angel Maintenance" would work well.

How could you not love Dukat beaming in just to be smarmy fark?

Going to show my geek cred right here: They showed a still from 'Star Trek: Enterprise' "In A Mirror Darkly, part one" for their segment on 'Star Trek: The Tholian Web'. You can even tell the ship is the NX-01 and not the NCC-1701!!!

/Good list, the DS9, Red Dwarf,Community and Friends episodes were spot on.
//I liked that E/R episode, my mom referred to it as pointless.
///I want more Community!!!

Snapper Carr: Out of Gas - Firefly

Nope. It takes place throughout the ship and not in a single space like a Bottle episode would dictate. We also have multiple characters outside of regulars such as scavengers, ship salesman, and douchey mechanic.

2012-11-30 02:54:19 PM
The fly episode was horrible. It didn't even advance their relationship iirc. They repeat the same pattern over and over on that show (which I still love, but those two have learned nothing despite poor communication costing them so much).

2012-11-30 02:56:20 PM
I just watched that Red Dwarf episode.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder why they didn't just turn Rimmer off. He was consistently and reliably useless, lied, stole, cheated, and generally acted in objectionable ways and actually caused more problems than he potentially sated by being an anchor for Lister. Everyone else on the show grew or changed, however little, but Lister was just an ass throughout. Plus he was just a simulation, not a real person. Lister may as well have been talking to himself the entire time.

That episode, basically, never really had any impact because Lister has no emotions anyway. When he talks about things being meaningful, or honor, or friendship, you know none of it is true.

The interplay between Dukat and Garak was great.

It was also representative of the show's strong writing -- that they could come up with situations where they have Dukat participating in a senior staff meeting during a crisis, and then go as far as having him hitting no Dax during the meeting.

KatjaMouse: Nope. It takes place throughout the ship and not in a single space like a Bottle episode would dictate

The ship itself is a single set, constructed on two levels to allow for simultaneous shooting.

There are a handful of non-regulars - the one with the most lines and screen time is Bester (Kaylee's predecessor who has like 12 lines and takes up all of 2 minutes of the show)

That is my favorite episode of the entire show, but somehow I'm happier that they picked coop calig due to Abed's realization that was a bottle episode.

No, he'd never pass up Kira to make a move on Dax. I don't think he ever had a thing for Kira, I think it was more a play for bragging rights and to stroke his ego. Women threw themselves (almost) at Dukat, he only went to bed alone when he chose to. In his mind, bedding Major Kira would be the ultimate victory. She hates him so much for what he's done to her family that if he could get her into bed without resorting to rape or manipulation then it would be the ultimate sexual victory and insult to the Bajorans.

Him sleeping with Kai Winn would have been a bigger insult had she done it with him looking like his true Cardassian self and not as a Bajoran.

A better example of a Star Trek Bottle Episode would be "The Gallileo Seven", IMO. 90 percent of it occurs on the shuttlecraft.

I'm troubled by the lack of "The Constant" and "The Chinese Restaurant" on this list. Somehow "The One Where No One's Ready" seems like a cheat when most episodes of Friends took place on only 2-3 sets to begin with. You may claim "The Constant" is a cheat because of, well:
