There are actually 10 items but due to craptastic scripting only the first one displays if using NoScript. I had to use IE to see them all (and it's really not worth the trouble).

FYI "broomrape" is a parasitic plant - still not a good name for a road.

I assume Broomrape comes from some sort of Old English word or phrase (considering that "rape" in this instance is most likely from the administration meaning)

/Rape has different etymologies that have different meaning

I always feel such a warm glow of pride that the next town over from my hometown is so internet famous nowadays.
/Has to drive through Boring to get to anywhere

How many people stop there just to call someone and announce, "I've just reached Climax"

List is weak.

There's a bar in my town called Whiskey Dix. I am certain the proprietor of the bar had no idea of what the term meant when he came up with the name.

I lived in a city that had an Antonio - Banderas intersection. Kind of cool I guess.

There's a Menlove Ave in Liverpool.

And no one seems to have mentioned Intercourse, PA, yet.

As someone from Hawaii, i know it is Po'opo'o Place (shows why the okina is so necessary), but i couldn't not add its cousin:

This street on the Big Island:

t3knomanser: meteorite: In Louisville KY you can drive down Penile Rd. First you cross Manslick and then the next street is Cummings. There's even Penile Baptist Church for your religious farkers out there.

And it connects to "Old New Cut Road", which... my mind "corrected" that one. It also connects to Ashley Pointe Dr, which... she sounds kinda hot. I'm okay with this. And then it hits Blevin's Gap. That is probably the best street in the US.

There's also an Old Third Street Road here, as well as Billy Goat Strut Alley. (also a Nanny Goat Strut)

Well, you got to hand it to Michigan to have the cities Colon and Climax within shooting distrance of each other

Houston has "Gaylord Drive".

A friend was directing me to another friend's place who lived on that street, I thought he was joking... He was not.

That one sounds too blatant to be an accident. Although it now reminds me of a place I saw driving home in Missouri, I was on some small highway down in the Lake of the Ozarks and saw a place called Big Dick's Halfway Inn. Link

Atomic Spunk: Poopoo Place is in Hawaii, so I think it's probably pronounced poe (as in Edgar Allan) oh poe oh. But yeah, I can see how this could be embarrassing, especially if you have to tell someone how to spell your street name who isn't from Hawaii.

You've got this right. It would actually be spelled Po'opo'o also, but the okinas are sometimes left out on street signs. It's poe-oh-poe-oh. Don't see how this gets in second place considering it's not actually embarrassing or weird for anyone who lives on the street. /angry Hawaiian

we've got a FLICKER'S NEST here in town, lots of double takes when people drive past it the first time.

Tenatra: I used to live on Swallow St. The lady at the social security office started laughing uncontrollably when she saw it. There was also a cashier checking my ID and she said she would be embarrassed to ever say that she lived on that street

There is building at Mizzou that is named Swallow Hall. At least it was there when I was in grad school many years ago.

davidphogan: laststarfighter: A friend of mine lived near the Crapi Apartments. When I saw their photo, I thought they had snagged the one I had taken, due to the mail truck in both.

/not a csb

I knew someone who lived there, and the apartments were surprisingly uncrappy.

fusillade762: L.D. Ablo: I don't know why they chose Boring Street when there's actually an entire town of Boring, Oregon.

My grandparents used to live in Boring.

I thought that was a joke the first time I saw it.

Oregon City might be boring, but it's not Boring. And 212 is a farking dangerous way to get between the two.
