Max Awesome: Aw, that was actually pretty cool.

Elven weather guy was very hot too. I didn't know I had an elf fetish until I watched this.

Me, on the other hand...well, we now know that Maori should probably not be cosplaying as Legolas. (Besides, hakas are more cool. :D)

As it is, even before the LOTR movies came out, I did have a mental image of New Zealand as being something resembling an area from Lord Of The Rings as a kid--specifically Hobbiton. (Radio New Zealand's international broadcasts helped a lot in this regard--giving the general impression the entirety of the country was basically a giant idyllic not-quite-British countryside.)

Then I discovered the New Zealand All Blacks and international rugby :D

/do still tend to think of New Zealand as "Australia's Canada" (as in the more civilised, laid-back, understated and polite neighbour) :D

HMS_Blinkin: Contents Under Pressure: The language actually sounds lovely. That was a treat.

Lovely when most people speak it, but terrifying if Hugo Weaving is talking. Go figure.

"Miiister Underhill... it seems youve been living a double life. We know that you've been contacted by a certain individual, a man who calls himself...Gandalf."
