That's a great idea. I'm going to set up a science X prize type thing where the winner gets a free house next door to the Bud Light brewery with free beer piped in. Hey where's everyone going? Don't you want to find out how to win?

In 1933 Erwin Schrödinger got the Nobel when he figured out how to get the beer from the brewery to the house without having to make any holes in the walls.

In my hometown of Evansville Indiana there used to be a brewery (G. Heileman Brewing Company, they made Blatz, and Old Style, and Sterling). They used to have a tavern in the basement with a party room - the Rathskeller. As I recall, when you paid the $200-300 to rent the room, you got access to the open beer taps in the wall, that led right into the brewery upstairs.

Many a fine SCCA winter party was had there - but for some reason I don't remember many of em ;)

Fun Niels Bohr fact: Nobody believed in ball lightning or gave it as much credence as UFOs and leprechauns. Niels Bohr observed the phenomenon and described it in detail including physical effects like scorch trails forcing the scientific community to accept it as a real event. Now almost 100 years later there still isn't a widely accepted explanation for it. Hope the explanation doesn't turn out to be a Carlsberg OD.

I've never been so jealous of a nerd in all my life. A free house and all the beer you can drink. If I had known that I would have taken more science classes and fewer shop classes.

Too bad it was Carlsberg though. If it was the same then as it is now, it's barely a half-step above Budweiser.

Somaticasual: Bigger question - after obama, has the nobel peace prize basically jumped the shark as a meaningful award? Even obama had the "wait, why AM i getting this?" look on his face..
