good. that was supposed to be a pro forma vote as it has been for years. the republicans were the ones who turned it into a hostage situation, which resulted in our credit downgrade and the looming "fiscal cliff." so fark them. they can choke on a bag of dicks.

Just farking shoot the hostage already, expose yourselves as the scum you are and get hounded out of office. This has gone far beyond the pale. Let the adults run the country and take your selfish temper tantrums back to the sticks.

This whole fight will set the tone for the next 4 years. Should Obama win, I think the GOP will be pretty damaged goods.

How did things turn out for Billy Batts?

1) Let all the Bush tax cuts expire (as they were supposed to after 10 years anyway).
2) Propose an assortment of Obama tax cuts (that conveniently do not include cuts for the over-$250k crowd).
3) Bathe in the tears of your enemies.

Easy-peasy.

Limbaugh spent about 2 hours today SCREAMING at the GOP to take their ball and go home. let the country crash. his thinking was that if the country implodes then Obama will catch the blame for it.

then he said 'but i'm just an entertainer so what do I know'.

The problem here is that the GOP cannot make a deal with Obama. if they do, their internal strife will only intensify. But the Republicans know they're weak - they just got their livers ripped out by the voters. kinda sucks to be them - but I can't really say I feel sorry for them. this crisis is one they made for themselves.

When did paying for things we already bought become a political issue?

2012-11-29 05:00:09 PM
Obama should just give Congress the silent treatment. Absolutely nothing from them as the cliff nears. About December 15, assuming Boehner hasn't caved like a souffle in an earthquake, Obama should have his press secretary announce that unless they give him something that doesn't gut entitlements, cuts the defense budget, raises taxes on the wealthy, and leaves the middle-class tax cut intact, he's going to call them into special session every day of the holiday recess and make them listen to Rebecca Black and Hanson songs. Oh, and unless it's on his desk by December 20th, they need to go ahead and raise the Social Security cap to sweeten it so that he likes the taste again.

He should include, during the presser, an easel with a 24x48 inch poster print of Obama's cock lying on the Resolute Desk.

Except that they'll run to the nearest media outlet and cry and wail about how Obama isn't willing to work with them.

I'd be just fine with him walking away and letting them stew, but for that.

Massive spending cuts and tax hikes will be triggered. This will totally fark aggregate demand and will cause a recession.

A Terrible Human: Please continue to scare the poor Republicans,it obviously worked on election day and that's why President Romney is going to fix everything.....oh wait.

Limbaugh was emo boy today. everything everywhere was ruined forever. then he ranted about the GOP should just walk out and not make deals with Obama. if/when everything falls apart then they can blame it all on Obama and use the chaos to advance their political agenda.

I actually had a difficult time believing Rush was openly admitting to this plan. I mean sure, its basically been the Republican fall back position since Obama got elected but...to hear it spoken of so openly by such a prominent Republican is breathtaking. Not to mention that this plan to blame everything on Obama obviously did NOT work for Romney. why push an idea you know will fail? putting aside for a moment the sheer level of evil necessary to consider an imploding/weakened America as good for your petty political agenda - the problem is that the plan DOES NOT WORK and is proven to fail.

that leads me to question the basic assumption of the GOP's actual agenda for the nation. are they really in it for the country...?

it'd do a number on the economy, yes. enough damage to make quiet a splash in the front pages around the nation. then the GOP could do a bit more sabotage at the regional levels to really rock people's boats and use the hate/discontent to generate support for themselves in the 2014 elections.

it's not like everyone will have to pony up $2k on january 1.

if they let the date pass, it will force congress to pass a new tax cut for the middle class. and force them to revisit the defense budget. unless the GOP is so blindly, rancorously partisan that they'd be willing to destroy the entire country to make a political point....jesus, you're right. we're farked.

2012-11-29 05:17:45 PM
There's no farking way Obama agrees to anything unless it includes a provision to avoid any of that debt ceiling nonsense until he's on book tours and giving for-fee speeches in 2017.

You guys sure do love tax cut related fiscal irresponsibility. Are you sure you're not in the GOP?

I don't think the spending cuts that come with sequestration will be that bad. The tax increase on the middle class will sting more. Obama is already in a strong position with his middle class tax cut plan since the Republicans want it too. He will be in a stronger position once everyone's pay check is a little smaller after the first of the year.

GOP will be better off settling the "Fiscal Clif" issue sooner rather than later.

Why do you listen to Limbaugh? I can understand wanting to know what bullshiat he's spewing but damn. Also the last time they pulled this bs probably killed a lot of political clout they had. Scorched earth plans usually go poorly for everyone, surely they realize this don't they? It's like cutting your nose off to spite your face,if your face was registered voters and your nose was economic security.

i'm not sure he's going to be around for much longer and i'm actually enjoying his near daily screams of rage and denial. he can't admit the GOP f*cked up and it's slowly driving him insane.

Debeo Summa Credo: You guys sure do love tax cut related fiscal irresponsibility. Are you sure you're not in the GOP?

raising taxes on the middle class during a tenuous recovery is a recipe for disaster. they should be extended for another couple of years. but, yes, they should be raised eventually, when times are good. this is how keynesian economics is supposed to work. unfortunately, we're really good about the spending part, but not so good about the paying it back part.

2012-11-29 05:23:40 PM
Boehner is the worst Speaker of the House in the history of that office. Completely incompetent, disgustingly incorrigible with the livelihood of his fellow citizens, and laughably inept at organizing the house. This dude is making history by being the worst ever. Nobody going forward could possibly fail as much as Boehner.
