From the article: Buschena said a police report did not elaborate on whether it was a real snowman or a winter decoration.

Now THAT was a comprehensive, exhaustively compiled police report.

When I was 19, I built a snowman facing the living rom window of a neighbor's house down the street.
Then I knocked on the door to see if the kid who lived there was home. His mom said to come in, and that he was in the living room. I went in and picked up the couch and pivoted it around so the kid could see it. He wasn't lazy. He was in a body cast because some diprod had hit him with a car and put him in it a couple of months earlier and his 8 year old body was completely wrapped in plaster and rods. He smiled for the first time in a long time. Best shared cups of hot cocoa, ever. He was only 8, but it made his christmas. I offered to move the couch back before I left so he could watch TV. He said, "no thank you. This is better"

Kids these days.

Awesome.

i was worried about what i was going to read in the article. Tagged Amusing and mentioning an ied, i was a little apprehensive. Then i laughed.
Nice one subby. But wouldn't 'pipe bomb that they found' have worked too?

/Just sayin', 'ied' is just. i don't know. Heavy?

Ya know, I'm trying to think if I ever did anything that nice for a neighbor kid... ever... nope. That was a really nice thing. Was the kid's mom hot?

Friend of mine has a 16 year old boy who has some rather severe mental issues. Despite his struggles, he's the first person to stand up for his slightly older gay sister and he's pretty bright and wise for kid his age. He's dropped some wisdom on me that I didn't learn until I was in my mid 30's.

His thing? He loves minecraft. He loves helping people in minecraft, and he especially loves helping people who are sad cheer up. Not in an obnoxious way. He really listens and gives you the space you need to talk. The dude is awesome. He has awesome parents, too.

Some kids these days are just fine. Now excuse me, I think i'm going to go build something nice for him,

They're not strings. They're filaments, like fishing line. And sometimes I can feel them and sometimes it hurts a little.

special20: Was the kid's mom hot?

Nah. The neighborhood was all upscale burbs. Mostly pro footballers and baseballers and FBI agents and Mafiosi.
Now the Ball player wives... Remember Terry Bradshaw's wife? The one who owns the coffee stores?
/kidding about her. She was a skater.
There were hot wives. Mrs. Throckmorton gave every kid a chubby. Used to sunbathe nekkid out back.
I was running over to a friends house once and didn't even see her. She yells, "HEY KID" and I stop and see this nekkid 36 24 36 with a martini laying on one of those woven lounge thingies with the nylon webbings. She rolls over and says "want to rub some lotion on my back"? and she's got all these criss cross marks on her back and butt and legs from the lounger thingy.
Just ew.
Not looking like a playboy bunny from the rear. I'm like "nah, I'm not supposed to fark weird old ladies" and hightailed it out of there into the woods.
She never bugged me again.

Found out later she'd been tapping every sapling that sprouted in the hood.
And had the herps.

She was a smoking hot 34 year old petri dish in 1974.
So let's do the math.
So she's like... uhmmmmm. 72 now?

In this case, a sparkler bomb. Improvised Explosive Device.

We prefereed Culligan's water bottles for making ours on the 4th. Cut the top off, pack it full of sparklers, leaving one or two in the center sticking up as a fuse, tape all around it, light it, drop it down the nearest manhole that goes to drainage. Watch the manhole jump and feel the ground shake.

What was not mentioned was the apparent Gang Rape of a Snow Angel down the street from there.

Prime suspects are members of the "Blue Herrings of Bismarck", a chapter of the Norwegian Mafia.
