Don't walk in the opposite direction.

The confidence of your gait is key for impressing the hoes.

Does your city have a running/marathon club? It might be best to ask someone IRL as opposed to internets-Americans.

Who are you memorializing? I mean, if its Adolfo hitler or somebody I'm sitting out.

Contact local churches. They like to arrange for drinks and snacks along the pathway as a way to increase visibility and outreach.

Contact local businesses and ask if they'd like to be advertised on the t-shirts you're creating for your walk - for a donation to the cause.

Reach out to organizations related to the cause letting them know of your plans. They can advertise for you.

Bring at least 1 hour of music, a fanny pack, and band-aids for your nipples if you have big nipples.

Don't invite the Dutch

If you really want it to be a success, invite others to participate. If you are the only one, it'll look stupid and will make people think you are retarded or something.

Roller skates are generally frowned upon.

Left right left right left right left... at least that's the way they taught us in the army.

Oh... and to help you keep pace, you can sing politically incorrect songs about Jodie and his cheating slut hometown girlfriend.

purple suede Pumas, three layers of socks each having 3 color bands for a nein band effect and if you are Caucasian walk with an exaggerated pimp roll style so the biatches know you bad. check your favorite weather source and outfit yourself accordingly. most important: have fun.

I'm new, okay?!?!? :( *sniff*

Seriously, it's a SIDS/Infant Loss Walk in memory of my bestie's son. Not Hitler. And I don't think songs about Jodie and his cheating slut hometown girlfriend would be a bad idea.... I have some really inappropriate friends. :)

This should take you about 35 minutes, and that's walking slowly. What kind of advice are you looking for?

Get in touch with local running stores to help advertise
Get in touch with local and/or national SIDS foundation
Make sure route is well marked, especially since it might be small for the first year or two
At least one water stand on the route

How to raise the most money possible. This is a fairly small town (about 22K) and there are no other SIDS walks in this area, just trying to make it profitable enough to make it a yearly event. We don't really want to work our hineys off just to hand over $2K to the charity (First Candle)

My advice: Explain yourself better in the first place. Also, don't live in a small town with no money.

Good luck with the Sudden Infant Death walk.

OK, that was kinda douchey of me.

Make up an attention-getting flyer, and put it up on the bulletin boards by the door of the local supermarket. You'd be surprised how many people actually look at those things. Seriously, no lie.

Would you care to donate to the "Get Me The Hell Out Of This Town" Fund? Tax- deductible. :)
