As someone who has been to Holeman and Finch, allow me to offer my review of their burger.

Tuna sammich (while delicious) != burger!

Louis' Lunch is a horrible burger. Sure it's the first place to serve it, but man, they are not that good.

Ted's is good if you like steamed burgers.

The best burger in CT is from Goldburgers in Newington.

Minetta Tavern is the best burger I've ever had.

Louie's Lunch is a great burger, but not in my top ten.

Shake Shack is incredible.

In-N-Out and 5 Guys are one in the same, a step above McD's.


The thing is that it depends on what kind of burger you're in the mood for at that moment. There are times when I'd love to go get a Shack burger, and other times when I just want to pick up a sack of sliders from White Castle. As long as it puts a smile on your face there should be no argument.

As a resident of DC, please let me say "Where?" Followed by another "Where?" for Arlington, VA.

However, we are carpet bombed with Five Guys here, so it's all good. And yeah, quality has slacked a little, but it's still a damn fine burger.

That whole list seemed like Meh....and like subby said the #4 destroyed any credit that the author apparently had.

In-N-Out has to be the most overrated burger I've ever had. Same with Five Guys fries. I'll take my local joints any day.

The Peanut Butter Bacon and Jelly burger at Twisted Root trumps all! No seriously it is quite possibly the best burger I've ever had, next to Seattle's Red Mill Bacon Blue Cheese burger. Yes, you can find good beef in Seattle.

I can vouch for this statement. They may not look like much but they are awesome. First place i eat when visiting that area.

Seems the thoroughness of their review of burger joints is equal to the quality of their slideshow. Everything is in New York/NE area except the few places in Cali and Nevada that they had overheard about at a rooftop wine party. "oh it's a simply diviiiiiiiiiine burger".

Now that's a tasty burger. But you defiantly need a beverage to wash it down. It will hit the spot.

List fails miserably without Bailey's Range. Plus restaurant-made ice cream and boozy shakes. Just magnificent.

Five Guys has a decent burger, but it's on a pathetic bun. The fries are tasty goodness though.

+1 for Gott's Roadside. Everything there is freakin' awesome.

The Shake Shack had alright burgers. Their shakes were amazing.

Nogale: I wish these lists would include prices. I don't think a burger meal - however good - should require financing.

Don't go to the Spotted Pig then. I did have the burger there about 3 years ago and it was very good, but it cost about $20 if memory serves.

Can't speak for the non-Boston ones, but Green Street burgers? Awesome! Craigie on Main? Meh at best.

Thurman Cafe in Columbus used to be nice, then it was featured on Man vs. Food, and now there's a seven-year waiting list to get in
