Being straight, I might consider it if it would cause him to actually be able to score during cup games...

This is true. I can't remember anything that happened after they lost the final. I got completely sad-drunk and I think I was carried home.

He joined Man United and began to score, and continued to keep scoring.

On a serious note though, that was the lineup that I had been hoping Fergie would put for months now, and the display last night was nothing short of awful.

No creativity in the midfield, WHU was tearing us apart in the second half. Missing Vidic and Kagawa is really showing through right now.

I know it's only one match, but United's form hasn't been good since beating Arsenal. Thankfully, historically, Christmas/New Years turns out to be really good for United.

It was almost what I was hoping for. I like Rooney just behind the attacking two, allows him to show off his skills on the ball, but I don't understand leaving out both Valencia and Young from the starting lineup. They really miss Kagawa. Happy to have Cleverly back (is it just me, or are United exceptionally injury prone? At one point last season you could have fielded a starting 11 from their injury list that any team outside the top four would have been happy to have.)

I'm also not sure about Chicharito as a starter -- his style of play seems to do better coming on later in the game when the opposing defense has tired a little.

Also, the less I see of Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs and Scholes the better. United are too slow through the middle when they play, especially when more than one of them is on the pitch. Carrick plus Scholes seems to be an especially bad combination -- Carrick seems to become far too deferential to Scholes, who in any case is a red card waiting to happen.

Also worth noting: Theo Walcott held the record for the fastest goal of the season... for about fifteen minutes. And then United kicked off.
