So the Robocop remake may be so bad that the studio doesn't want anyone to promote it? Good to know.

Most of the time, I don't bother to read the article, but once in a while the headline begs me too.

So I clicked on the link.

Now I remember why I rarely read the article.

My mind immediately justified it by saying "well, he would probably have been called a vegetable had they hadn't made him robocop."

How is posting an image copyright infringement? Leonard J. Crabs would've gotten you out of it.

Stop giving us free publicity immediately!

Seriously though, are they saying that this copyrighted image is the best part of the movie? That once I see it, I'll have no desire to buy a ticket?

CSB - I caught some the filming last week. The were doing some motorcycle stunt scene across the liftbridge between Burlington and Hamilton.

Because when you want a a city that looks like burnt out shell of future Detroit, you think Hamilton.

Because the image did not belong to the person posting it.

Why is this not being filmed in Detroit? Detroit should match those Ontario tax credits. What have they got to lose?

because it's a ficitional movie, not a documentary.

/and they probably don't want to get robbed/shot.

From everything I've seen, it would be better.

We already got Dredd, which was awesome. I don't see how retreading Robocop in a completely different enviroment will work as well as, say, taking the basic concept but doing something new.

I thought movie studios stopped this 15 years ago, once they realized that it was free publicity ?

If I remember correctly, they didn't like the suggestion that their burned out turd heap of a city was a burned out turd heap. The city council didn't even consider trying to sway the studio into shooting there.

Is it because it's so cold there? I've heard it's so cold in the D.

Just get me my f*cking lawyer.

Well I was highly looking forward to this movie, but when a stunt like this is pulled from a site that is essentially for hard core genre movie fans.

It just reeks that the movie goes from good to bad to so bad it's good back to it can't be salvaged.

2012-11-29 07:40:14 PM
They're obviously better people then me over there. If a studio had pulled that shiat on me, I'd have slapped a boycott on even mentioning their crappy movie on my site SO fast....

They really should learn to embrace Robocop or they'll be even more screwed when OCP buys the city.

Entertainment lawyers really have no idea what they're doing, do they?
