Sweet Christ, it's like we're living with a parallel universe at this point. Oh well, at least now we can show any conservatives spouting an idea of objectivity that they're full of shiat.

Dead for Tax Reasons: I'm glad to see they have gordon gecko around to write their article on hostess

"The bankruptcies and salary increases were part one -- the latter isn't greed; it's simply compensation. The liquidation was also carefully managed, and the proposal to cut workers' salaries and retirement benefits was specifically designed to be a win-win -- if they capitulated, then the company would stay in business. And if they did not, then the assets would be sold to the highest bidder. And, Twinkies and the other Hostess brands will survive."

It's a win-win! We get to keep all the profits of your work, and you get to work until you're 75 because we stole your pension! Everybody gets something.

thurstonxhowell: If it was a fact-checking site that concentrated on debunking liberal lies or half-truths, that would be fine. However, I think we all knew it would have bullshiat like this:

To have any semblance of fairness, PolitiFact should play it 50/50 and present an equal number of lies from both sides.

That idea should be beaten to death with a hammer.

I read somewhere on Fark, before the election, that this guy is slightly out of focus, and the trees behind him are in focus. It makes the photo incredibly creepy when you think about it.

We were surprised by this. Because of Mrs. Nuxoll's role as a State Senator, and because she wrote that the procedure is "totally constitutional," we believed that she had adequate knowledge of the U. S. Constitution.

Although this was posted as a news item, we are, at our core, a fact-checking site, and we did not engage in sufficient fact checking. We regret the error and extend our apologies to Senator Nuxoll.

That's comedy f*cking gold

James!: I look on this as more a business opportunity than anything else.  Pretty soon they'll want a conservative Amazon, conservative Google, conservative Twitter, conservative Fark.  It's time to get in on the ground floor of the right's complete divorce from reality.

They already have some of it. Hugh Hewitt pimps "conservative email addresses" at @Reagan.com, broadcasts from the "Reagan studios". During the ads for said emails, he goes on about how all the Google/Amazon/Apple tech types support leftists so you need an email address that doesn't line their pockets. Seriously.

Also, I love how the Dean Chambers link is 2nd from the top. I don't think there's a better embodiment of "conservative facts" than DC.

That would looks creepy in or out of focus.

In moron land, this is true:

"Mitt Romney carried 24 states. We need to have conservative activists from all over the nation contact the electors, the Republican Party and the secretary of state in all of these states and tell them not to participate in the Electoral College when it meets on Dec. 17. If we can get 17 of those states (just over one-third) to refuse to participate, the Electoral College will have no quorum. Then, as the Constitution directs, the election goes to the House of Representatives."

Meanwhile, in actual reality: snopes

Morons make bare assertions. People with half a brain cite their sources. It's a key difference.

I used to find this practice of corralling people in to the alternate conservative reality as disgusting and dangerous, but after the election I'm completely thrilled that these people are segregating themselves from reality.

They will get violent at some point though, that's going to suck.

The really creepy part is that Dean Chambers was actually posing for his wife sans pants, and just cropped his penis out for his internet profile picture.

I read that on PotatoFact so it must be true.

THIS HAS TO BE SATIRE

Millions of people were stunned by the result of that fateful night. And the first question that many people had was "how could all the polls have been so wrong?"Rasmussen and Gallup, traditionally understood to be among the most accurate polls, had Romney. And these indicators were backed up by the scientific data: unskewedpolls.com, a site which adjusted for the left-wing bias of many polling organizations, also showed a clear victory for Romney.

Prank Call of Cthulhu: I clicked on the link about NOAA. It held this gem:

"Average" can mean many things.

And here's the really amazing thing. I actually managed to get stupider from there. I swear I am not making this up. That was the most intelligent thing on that page. Everything else managed to be dumber. It was like some transcendence of ordinary, everyday stupidity. We're talking some ethereal realm of moronitude and idiocy unlike anything I've ever seen. It was like some kind of weird anti-knowledge, that if it came into contact with the knowledge of our universe would explode in a flash of gamma rays. I'm actually a little in awe of it.

That article was hilarious. The part about the oceans being colder than land, while not realizing they aren't measuring water temp. Or even using the statement 'most likely...' when fact checking. That seriously could be The Onion worthy with a few minor tweaks.

I don't think that's a typo. It's saying that the senator is going to save 'is,' which is to say the present. Obama can't really mess with 'was' unless he uses his time machine, and we all know how the right feels about how he is going to effect the 'will be.'

Fact: But for some reason he calls himself Chuck Davis on this piece.

Fact: Chuck Rodgers isn't even sure of his own name.

I'm guessing his real name is Charles Davis but he writes under the pseudonym Chuck Rodgers because he's afraid of being exposed for some reason... or he just has some weird Buck Rodgers obsession.

The disastrous election results were shocking here at CFC HQ. But we've pulled ourselves off the floor, and we're upping our commitment to providing accurate, conservative-based fact checking for people who recognize the truth.

That starts with some freshening of the site's look. The Obama tax hikes have prevented us from hiring professional web designers, so we're doing it ourselves... so please be patient.

Awesome. Great narrative on that site. Republicans are good, are always right, and anything which calls that into question must be a result of liberal bias.

2012-11-29 10:46:48 AM
We assembled this chart by sorting PolitiFact's complete list of "Pants On Fire" rulings. We filtered out any rulings of chain email or anonymous Facebook posts (although these were virtually all conservative viewpoints), as well as politicians or organizations who had only one "Pants On Fire" ruling (but again, even these were mostly conservatives).

The results are, sadly, not surprising. But the situation is grave. PolitiFact (and other supposedly unbiased fact-checking sites) paint Mitt Romney as a serial liar. They also unfairly tarnish Michele Bachmann as a liar, when anybody who follows her already understands that many of her statements aren't meant to be truthful in the first place -- she simply says what she feels.

Notice that PolitiFact states that Barack Obama lies more than Sarah Palin. That's good news -- but keep in mind that Barack Obama's statements are across two campaigns, while Sarah Palin's were across only one.

To have any semblance of fairness, PolitiFact should play it 50/50 and present an equal number of lies from both sides. They clearly are not concerned with any pretense.
