So now I'm not important to you, subby? That hurts me, man. It hurts.

Over the years, one of the more troubling characteristics of the Democratic Party and the left in general has been a shortage of loyalty and an abundance of self-loathing

...and yet this bunch of disloyal self-loathing Democrats kicked your asses from east to west and won the white house in a landslide victory. that's a very uncomfortable reality, and the Republicans are not very good at all with confronting uncomfortable realities. the GOP pundits have chosen to blame the voters - they call people stupid and say Obama is 'santa claus'. meanwhile Norquist and the Koch brothers are watching their influence erode despite the massive amounts of cash they've pumped into elections around the country.

so go ahead and keep blaming voters. keep saying that the Democrats are handing out toys and candy. keep sending multiple divorcees to lecture the country on the 'sanctity of marriage' and morality in general. allow me to paraphrase a GOP hero: we WANT you to fail. Because if you keep going on like this, failure is inevitable.

losing by over a hundred electoral votes is a "narrow loss".

I appreciate that Mitt Romney was never a favorite of D.C.'s green-room crowd or, frankly, of many politicians.

Or frankly, of most Americans. Or of the world.

"Important voters"?

Yeah, maybe in the 1912 election.

The future is "minorities" and women, fellas. And you lost them like a high school cheerleader's virginity at the victory party after the first win of the season.

2012-11-28 03:08:28 PM
I think that's code for "Oh my God, the Koch Brothers are going to use me as a human axle on their limousine! Dear God someone help me!"

2012-11-28 03:13:31 PM
On Nov. 6, Romney carried the majority of every economic group except those with less than $50,000 a year in household income.

So basically "Fark you, poor people!"

2012-11-28 03:20:32 PM
I also like how the Republicans answer to the Dream Act is to allow immigrant children the right to serve in the military and attend college, but they can't vote. Why? Because they'd vote against the Republicans. I heard that on the news and I was dumbfounded nobody in the media fell over laughing at them.

That's sorta like supporting democracy for other countries as long as the President doesn't turn out to be Muslim or hate America.

Conservatives are so loose with their principles.

2012-11-28 03:35:24 PM
the important voters are the ones that put your total over 270 electoral votes. he didn't even win the popular vote so they could say "well, at least we won't the popular vote". he got farking trounced.

jees...it would be like the Jets saying, "at least we scored the important touchdowns"

And it isn't like $50k and lower is some small percentage of the country....

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/01/15/business/one-percent-ma p .html/

It is 49% of the country... close enough to 47% I guess ;)

But, keep beating that horse GOP.

2012-11-28 03:39:24 PM
Bush lost the popular vote, yet won the election and he farked up this country so you might want to STFU about Obama winning both.

2012-11-28 03:41:27 PM
SO he's basically trying to say that Romney didn't lose so much as come in a "strong second"?

What d'ya want pal? A participation ribbon?

Given the latent racism in this country I wouldn't exactly be crowing about your win percentages among white voters, I'd bet at least 10-15% only voted for Romney because the other choice was the "blah" guy. Meaning, that if in the next election the dem candidate happens to be white, you're in for an even more thorough ass-kicking

FFS, quit whining already! You lost! 8 years ago, if the Democrats had grumbled this much, you'd have been screaming about not supporting a president during a time of war and relegating them to "Free Speech Zones".

James!: losing by over a hundred electoral votes is a "narrow loss".

One week before election: "We predict that Romney will defeat Obama in a landslide, with Romney getting over 330 electoral votes."

One week after election: "Obama narrowly defeated Romney with his measly 332 electoral votes. Yeah, it was a real squaker all right. They have no mandate."

Stuart Stevens: Nobody liked Romney except voters.

Which is exactly why Romney had sown up the Republican nomination so quickly. Oh, wait, Republican voters kept looking for someone -- anyone -- else and only accepted Romney when there was practically no other choice.

Funny how the only reason that rmoney won the nomination is because basically everyone else split the vote and dropped out.
It would be AWESOME if the GOP switched to a multi-vote ballot, where you list your 2nd 3rd and 4th choice.

WHOOPS .... rmoney never would have won the nomination with that.

He bested the competition in debates, and though he was behind almost every candidate in the GOP primary at one time or the other, he won the nomination and came very close to winning the presidency.

Romney outspent all of his primary opponents 10-1. He couldn't do that with Obama. That's probably why he won the primaries but lost the election.

There's also the point that all his opponents self-destructed, usually by saying really, really stupid things. He was campaigning against carnies and freaks, basically, and still had to spend a fortune to beat them.

In some countries the loser of an election is gathered with his collaborators and executed. I always thought this practice was about sore winners. Turns out - they're just keeping them from doing what Romney's folks are doing, which is to say "farking themselves every which way to sunday."

Hmm...

I know that this may sound like gloating, but I really don't intend anyone to take it that way:

The behavior of Romney and his people after this election has convinced me even more strongly that I cast the right vote.

They seem to think that solves everything.

The secretly taped video of him making this "moral case" is one of the main reasons he lost the election, you hopeless moron.

I imagine Romney pulling votes out of a box marked "Favorite Romney" and weeping at all of the Tagg votes. He named him Taggart to sink his election chances and he still won!

If you want to count Super PAC funds, he damn near did outspend Obama by that much.

... And he still lost. :P

Over the years, one of the more troubling characteristics of the Democratic Party and the left in general has been a shortage of loyalty and an abundance of self-loathing.

It's called critical thinking and constructive criticism, and it's when, when you're about to shoot yourself in the foot, your friends tell you, so you can avoid it, instead of cheering you on. The lack of this in the GOP is the only thing actually troubling. For example, if this existed on the right, someone would have stopped you before you wrote this article and made an ass of yourself.
