This kid has been force-fed lines his entire life. If you ever watch the show you can tell he has no comprehension of what he's saying. Totally like the olsen twins with their "NO WAY, DUDE!" lines from full house.

He's been raised to parrot what ever is in front of him. If it wasn't this fringe "Seventh Church" it'd be something else.

The kid needs to stop doing the show and experience the world himself.

Mammon > Jesus for about 95% of all "true believers" (including Angus T.)

Nina_Hartley's_Ass: chewielouie: The other interesting question is whether the church he attends accepts his tithe knowing how he makes a living?

Not snarking but has ANY church, EVER refused a tithe? a donation?

Yes.

I think it's safe to say Jon Cryer is currently phoning a therapist:

"Hi, I'd like to set up a series of appointments."

"Okay sir, certainly. What issue would you be coming on for?"

"I honestly don't know, but it's a statistically safe bet that this phone call is a really good idea."

Yes. I know a church that rejected a sizable donation because they knew the money came from lottery winnings.

I really feel sorry for Jon Cryer. Here's a guy who had a lot of roles in the 80's and almost became a superstar, then he disappeared for 20 years and makes a comeback. Then each of his costars implode one after the other and now he has to work with that douche Ashton Kutcher.

Of course you have to admire a guy like that. He smiles for photographs, keeps his mouth shut and cashes the checks.

Just shut up and make that money dummy. After this show ends, everyone will forget who you are and you can devote the rest of your life to Jebus. It's a win-win.

Cryer is the sane one on the set. I can't think of any scandal he's been involved in.

chewielouie: Dumb analogy is dumb. This is quite different. He doesn't just merely hate his job, he finds the content and message that Two and a Half Men puts forth to be morally reprehensible and against his religious beliefs. His situation is more akin to a "Christian" man that owns a strip club but telling people not to enter it.

He's been working on that show since he was 10 or something. It can't be easy being a child actor. He became a "christian" a few months ago. He shows up for work, does what they tell him, and I'm sure he works hard, or he would have been written off the show years ago. What he does with his dirty money is his business.

Also I'm pretty sure that some of you work for outfits that you find morally repugnant and against your personal beliefs. But you don't quit and donate all your pay to places that support your beliefs--especially if you earned that money years before. You keep right on working, and go home and biatch to your family and friends.

naw, sounds like a lot of people are just jealous that this little shiat is doing far better than they ever will in their lives. And maybe jealous that they can't make a youtube video about how much their job sucks.

Wasn't 'merikuh founded on religious dickheadedness?
Hell, the puritans were barely ashore when they started hanging witches & piling rocks on folk.

Anyone can make a YouTube video about how much their job sucks. They just can't get people to watch it.

His tithing to the cult will be a lot more if he stays employed.

2012-11-28 12:27:33 PM

dumbobruni: cryinoutloud: I wonder how many of you guys advocating that this guy donate all his money also cash your checks from your jobs that you hate?

he didn't just hate his job. he considered his employer to be immoral, and actively encouraged people to not consume his employer's products. that goes beyond a simple "i hate my job" rant.

/quit my immoral banking job to volunteer

This. Staying in a job you only hate is 9/10 of the Protestant Work Ethic.

This is more evidence that being a child actor can mess you up.

The backlash against him is just the Devil trying to ruin his life because he told the truth. Atheists should be classified as a hate group at this point.

Both donations. I guess that makes sense, as rejecting a tithe would essentially be rejecting a person.

Has anyone heard of a church telling someone they should keep their 10%?

The saddest/funniest thing about all this is that Angus was pretty much completely correct in his statement.

He simply didn't have the self-awareness as to how much fallout there'd be.

I'd love to see him get his own show. Maybe something like "Chuck" or a Doctor Who-inspired sci-fi-comedy series.

Maybe a reboot of Get Smart.

Or porn.

He would be better in a live action Inspector Gadget. At least better than Matthew Broderick..

Uh, so? Maybe he thinks it's trash and would like it to be cancelled. Just like if you hated your job and wouldn't cry if your job was cancelled. But.....(wait for it)......I bet you'd still keep working there until that happened.

Did not RTFA, did not read comment. Only have this to say:

If he has a problem with the show, he is a complete asshole and hypocrite for continuing to perform and collect a paycheck. He is a worse human being than the people who AREN'T morally opposed to the contents of the show, because at least they are not hypocrites.

Also, that show sucks, was never particularly funny, and this kid has always been a sh*tty actor.

Nope. Once I decided the job was not something that I should be doing, I'd be gone. I've done it before, I'll do it again.

My business partner is a Seventh Day Adventurer and as far as I can tell, other than that whole wacky sky man shiat, she's pretty well adjusted.

Plus, I know that she firmly believes that if she steals from me, she's going straight to hell so I never have to worry about that.

I've worked with her for 29 years and her SDAness has never been an issue. I learned early on not to engage her in conversation on that topic and we co-exist just fine. Some of her friends however are total whack jobs.

If I hated my job I sure as hell wouldn't be on teevee talking about it, unless I totally expected to get fired - like what should happen to him. Him mouthing off is a blemish on the show that people will think about every time they see him on it now.

Oh, farking hug it, you fat, brainless talentless stump knob. Your show was and is shiat, and you must be placed in front of a deepfryer until you learn your true place in the world. Jesus doesn't love you, and the only reason I am biatching about you is that thousands of morons have jammed your wretched mug up in my face.
