I'm also looking forward to Chuck Lorre's next vanity card, altho he might not be able to top this one from last year:

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #329

I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x-rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers.

If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed.

HotWingConspiracy: Jebus ain't got nothing on sweet, sweet cash.

It's enough to make a person wonder if the entire act was some kind of satire or something: perhaps Angus's own independent idea of "performance art" or, more cynically, just a marketing scheme cooked up by the show.

They identify the Seventh-Day Adventists as a cult in that article. I'm no expert on it but that denomination produced Desmond Doss. If you don't know the name look him up. The wiki page on the church says it has something like 16 million people worldwide.

The particular church this kid is going to may be corrupt but I don't think the church as a whole is.

Honestly, right now I'm awash in good feelings, because while I was out of the office yesterday my coworkers pooled their money to go out and buy a batch of tickets - and my boss went ahead and pitched in for me figuring I'd be good for it and not wanting me to be left out.

So, I'm rewarding him by frittering away the morning on Fark. Hm. Maybe I need to rethink some things.

Dumb analogy is dumb. This is quite different. He doesn't just merely hate his job, he finds the content and message that Two and a Half Men puts forth to be morally reprehensible and against his religious beliefs. His situation is more akin to a "Christian" man that owns a strip club but telling people not to enter it.

He's simply not mature enough to handle the pressures and temptations he is facing. He's bound by contract to do the show and is legally and ethically obligated to do them. The money is one helluva temptation, but yeah, if he was strong in his walk, he would do the show and donate the money to charity. Signing on for another year makes him a hypocrite.

The other interesting question is whether the church he attends accepts his tithe knowing how he makes a living?

As I said in the other thread, Kirk had the clout to dictate the show's content and have an actress fired for appearing in Playboy. While it's fun to laugh at this kid's backtracking, with Kirk, you want to punch him in the face.

2012-11-28 11:50:12 AM
This kid has been force-fed lines his entire life. If you ever watch the show you can tell he has no comprehension of what he's saying. Totally like the olsen twins with their "NO WAY, DUDE!" lines from full house.

He's been raised to parrot what ever is in front of him. If it wasn't this fringe "Seventh Church" it'd be something else.

The kid needs to stop doing the show and experience the world himself.

He's been working on that show since he was 10 or something. It can't be easy being a child actor. He became a "christian" a few months ago. He shows up for work, does what they tell him, and I'm sure he works hard, or he would have been written off the show years ago. What he does with his dirty money is his business.

Also I'm pretty sure that some of you work for outfits that you find morally repugnant and against your personal beliefs. I'm wondering if Ashton constantly walking around with Mila-stink on him drove little Angus crazy.

I know I would if it were me.

dumbobruni: what part of him calling for a boycott of his own show did you not understand?
/no wait, you are ignoring that, because it conflicts with your bullshiat

Uh, so? Maybe he thinks it's trash and would like it to be cancelled. Just like if you hated your job and wouldn't cry if your job was cancelled. But.....(wait for it)......I bet you'd still keep working there until that happened.

I think the mods "hate" morons acting like idiots. These morons happen to be Christian.
Feel better?

Did not RTFA, did not read comment. Only have this to say:

If he has a problem with the show, he is a complete asshole and hypocrite for continuing to perform and collect a paycheck. He is a worse human being than the people who AREN'T morally opposed to the contents of the show, because at least they are not hypocrites.

Also, that show sucks, was never particularly funny, and this kid has always been a sh*tty actor.

Nope. Once I decided the job was not something that I should be doing, I'd be gone. I've done it before, I'll do it again.

Another child actor goes off the rails. Call me when he starts getting arrested for stuff or joins the cult of Kirk Cameron or something.

My business partner is a Seventh Day Adventurer and as far as I can tell, other than that whole wacky sky man shiat, she's pretty well adjusted.

Plus, I know that she firmly believes that if she steals from me, she's going straight to hell so I never have to worry about that.

I've worked with her for 29 years and her SDAness has never been an issue. I learned early on not to engage her in conversation on that topic and we co-exist just fine. Some of her friends however are total whack jobs.

If I hated my job I sure as hell wouldn't be on teevee talking about it, unless I totally expected to get fired - like what should happen to him. Him mouthing off is a blemish on the show that people will think about every time they see him on it now.

Oh, farking hug it, you fat, brainless talentless stump knob. Your show was and is shiat, and you must be placed in front of a deepfryer until you learn your true place in the world. Jesus doesn't love you, and the only reason I am biatching about you is that thousands of morons have jammed your wretched mug up in my face.

"This $8 million dollar contract would be quite enticing if this was the case with Jones. Many suspect today that he is in with a cult as his bizarre behaviors lately seem to point to this."

You know, I don't care if they do. The kid ain't Haley Joel Osment or Anna Paquin.

On an unrelated note: Web-designers who create sites with automatic pop-up video ads with sounds should burn in hell.

Oh, yea. It's a cult. And they like posting on YouTube.

ANGUS JONES's Testimony (Pt.1)

This was apparently posted by the leader himself and the "members" are all over the comments section. Gold.

How many of us claim to be followers of Christ? The loud mouthed dickhead in the article does. I wonder if he ever really reads the bible?

Luke 12:44. "Sell your possessions and give alms; make yourselves purses which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near, nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Mt. 19:20ff. The young man said to Him, "All these commands I have kept; what am I still lacking?" Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

Luke 6:24. "But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full."

Prov. 29:7. The righteous is concerned for the rights of the poor; the wicked does not understand such concern.

1 John 3:17. But whoever has the world's goods, and beholds his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?

Acts 2:44. All those who had believed were together, and had all things in common; and they began to sell their property and possessions, and share them with all, as anyone might have need.

Mike Chewbacca: You know, I don't care if they do. The kid ain't Haley Joel Osment [snip] Where the hell did he go? He's a great actor and I'd love to see him in more Oscar-bait movies

He did a terrific movie with Robert Duvall and Michael Caine called Secondhand Lions when he was 16. At 19, he got stoned and drunk and almost killed himself in a car accident. He went to NYU's school for the arts and graduated in 2010, when he was 22. He's done some voiceover work and appeared in a few movies that never made it past the "shown at film festivals" thing. One was called Home of the Giants, he played a high school newspaper reporter tangled up in a basketball betting scandal, the other is a film with Olivia Dukakis called Montana Amazon that's been re-titled Misadventures of the Dunderheads and will be released in the spring. He's also the lead in yet another Frankenstein-type thing called Waking the Dead.

He had a cameo in a cool little movie called Sassypants that came out in October, playing the gay boyfriend of the lead girl's dad. He's onscreen for maybe 10 minutes altogether and he steals the movie.

4.bp.blogspot.com

Yeah, he's not the "I see dead people" kid any more. He's still only 24, he's got a long career as a character actor ahead of him if he wants it.

/Yeah, I'm a fan
//No, Pedobear, no need to shake your finger at me
///Mmmm..Haley Joel Osment shirtless.....

8 Million dollars will print a lot of Watchtower's
p.s. Seventh Day Adventists have little in common with Christianity. Advent does make some great speakers though.

There's kind of a big difference between me telling a couple of friends "man, my job sucks" over pizza and an actor telling pretty much the entire world not to watch the show that employs him. If I were to get on tv and tell the public not to patronize my employer, I'd expect to be unemployed very soon.

Ed Grubermann: dv-ous: Nina_Hartley's_Ass: chewielouie: The other interesting question is whether the church he attends accepts his tithe knowing how he makes a living?

Not snarking but has ANY church, EVER refused a tithe? a donation?

Yes.

But they had no problems with tithes given by Nazis. Go figure.

hey! hey, hey hey there. stand back, look at the big picture. is the Pope Catholic? is the Pope a Nazi? (remember: once a Marine, always a Marine can apply elsewhere). and there was more than just a little monetary support going on in the good old days. and it wasn't just from the Vatican City. -- but it's true, it's most common to read about and hear of most houses of worship turning down even fat cash gifts if they were considered dirty. me, i'd take it, say thank you and feed the hungry. milk man don't giver a damn where his money come from.

Marcus Aurelius: Brubold: They identify the Seventh-Day Adventists as a cult in that article. I'm no expert on it but that denomination produced Desmond Doss. If you don't know the name look him up. The wiki page on the church says it has something like 16 million people worldwide.

The particular church this kid is going to may be corrupt but I don't think the church as a whole is.

I have known a number of Seventh-Day Adventists, and they were all completely out of touch with reality. Small sample size, but telling.

I grew up in that particular cult, and they're ALL out of touch with reality. Young Earth Creationism anyone? How about disbelief in evolution? Yeah, all that and more.

Ummm, Seventh Day Adventist isn't a cult. It's a legit religious sect. Their weird thing is not eating any hooved critters. No caffeine, etc. Hardly a 'cult'. Scientologists and Mormons are cults.

Oh goody, this is the daily Christian bashing thread. I wondered if pretentious types were going to let a day go by without showing their bigotry towards Christians, but no, you managed to make your daily appearance. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

cleveoh: I'm also looking forward to Chuck Lorre's next vanity card, altho he might not be able to top this one from last year:

God I love that. Never would have seen it... thanks.
