"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ." - Gandhi

Sorry that those hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode that he makes might vanish if he doesn't apologize.

Headline of the Year, methinks.

If a statement starts with "I apologize if " is not an apology.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be an overabundance of crazy coming from that show?

I'm also looking forward to Chuck Lorre's next vanity card, altho he might not be able to top this one from last year:

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #329

I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x-rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers.

If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed.

HotWingConspiracy: Jebus ain't got nothing on sweet, sweet cash.

It's enough to make a person wonder if the entire act was some kind of satire or something: perhaps Angus's own independent idea of "performance art" or, more cynically, just a marketing scheme cooked up by the show.

That's a helluva note, when ANY religion calls another religion a "cult".

he didn't just hate his job. he considered his employer to be immoral, and actively encouraged people to not consume his employer's products. that goes beyond a simple "i hate my job" rant.

It's not Christians they hate, it's rampant hypocrites. Although I will grant you, it's pretty tough to tell the difference in most cases.

I know someone who was with the 7DAs, and she pretty much confirms that they're a creepy cult.

/But then, in my opinion, all Christianity is cult-like and greedy.

They identify the Seventh-Day Adventists as a cult in that article. I'm no expert on it but that denomination produced Desmond Doss. If you don't know the name look him up. The wiki page on the church says it has something like 16 million people worldwide.

The particular church this kid is going to may be corrupt but I don't think the church as a whole is.

So the fight between sanity and insanity rages on.

Seriously kid (because you're still acting like a child), grow the fark up and get away from the controlling fundies, before you end up as a worse punchline than "Kirk Cameron".

Oh, and stay away from the bananas.

I have known a number of Seventh-Day Adventists, and they were all completely out of touch with reality. Small sample size, but telling.

My father in law is apparently suing(or contemplating suing, I haven't heard too much because it is a sensitive subject) one of their churches and the old leader of the church.

I'll give you one guess why he is suing them.

Honestly, right now I'm awash in good feelings, because while I was out of the office yesterday my coworkers pooled their money to go out and buy a batch of tickets - and my boss went ahead and pitched in for me figuring I'd be good for it and not wanting me to be left out.

So, I'm rewarding him by frittering away the morning on Fark. Hm. Maybe I need to rethink some things.

Dammit. If you couldn't guess, that was meant for the Powerball thread.

Angus T: WAHHHHHHHHHH TV is bad. I dont like this. I think this is drek. WAHHHHHHH!

Producers: Ok, how about we just go ahead and cancel your contract for $350,000 per episode and you can just fark off to do as you please?

Brat faced dumbass: I'm done talking/ Jesus.

/ Im guessing in 6 months he is quoted saying, "Bath salts are AMAZING!"

Dumb analogy is dumb. This is quite different. He doesn't just merely hate his job, he finds the content and message that Two and a Half Men puts forth to be morally reprehensible and against his religious beliefs. His situation is more akin to a "Christian" man that owns a strip club but telling people not to enter it.

He's simply not mature enough to handle the pressures and temptations he is facing. He's bound by contract to do the show and is legally and ethically obligated to do them. The money is one helluva temptation, but yeah, if he was strong in his walk, he would do the show and donate the money to charity. Signing on for another year makes him a hypocrite.

The other interesting question is whether the church he attends accepts his tithe knowing how he makes a living?

I have a one word explanation for his turnaround: tithe.

As I said in the other thread, Kirk had the clout to dictate the show's content and have an actress fired for appearing in Playboy. While it's fun to laugh at this kid's backtracking, with Kirk, you want to punch him in the face.
