Oh gods. I've done something like this before. There's nothing like a day of reassuring an entire university's staff that they have not just been unexpectedly fired.

Back in 2002, in HS, I discovered that the IT department hadn't disabled NET SEND. A quick script to execute "NET SEND *" five times per second and operations quickly halted.

The next day teachers employed their exemplary detective skills asking "who normally sits at this desk?". "(Poker face)No one".

Then the head of the IT department was arrested for sodomy and it all went away.
