One of the restaurants here in Philly has been doing it for years as part of their famous Sunday brunch. Now, you don't get to choose your flavor (currently it is "Milk Chocolate with Salted Caramel Ganache") but it's fun to watch. Tastes good, too.

That was pretty interesting. Their web site doesn't list prices but reading the Yelp reviews it sounds like it's about the same price as a Cold Stone

I wonder if this was the same stuff that was shown/described on House M.D. several years ago. Booze flavored ice cream. Liquid nitrogen is cold enough to freeze alcohol.

In my experiments the Kitchenaide stand mixer was crap for ice cream. It doesn't wall scrape.

There's a similar place in San Francisco. I watched them make me a cone of pumpkin maple ice cream with salted caramel sauce. It was seriously delicious.

Yeah, but I'm not sure you'd want to eat a -26C slushie. Maybe blended with cream and such it's not too bad. A pure whiskey pop will probably stick to your tongue. Frozen everclear would be asking for a trip to the ER.
