I don't know why YOU LIBS have made abortion such an issue this election year.

The right wing is not known for stating facts. This website is just one more example.

The picture of the fetus trying to hold onto the uterine lining with its tiny, developing hands was a bit melodramatic.

Do they also have a website telling pregnant women how to avail themselves of low cost medical care and social services if they need them?

We need to abort the state of Arizona.

2012-11-27 02:18:18 PM
Fighting derp of this magnitude with facts and reality doesn't work, as the derp has already discarded facts as irrelevant. There is only one solution; fight back with even greater derp.

I humbly submit a website campaign with slogans such as "If you had the chance to abort Hitler, wouldn't you?" and "Parasitic growths are not 'people', people." Show films like Rosemary's Baby and The Omen. Push the counterderp to potato.

If you provide accurate medical and scientific data, conservatives believe it is liberally biased. To them, this is the truth because it does not contradict their preconceived notions.

Has the Arizona legislature, apparently so concerned with the health and well-being of expectant mothers and their fetuses, made any expansion to SCHIP, Medicaid, Head Start, and WIC (and other progras like them), made investments in early education and ensured day care is available to all new moms?

No?

I don't get the argument here. Women regret a choice they might possibly make therefore we should pass a law banning them from making that choice? Women regret sleeping with jackass boyfriends too. Let's ban fornication. That will probably help solve this abortion thing too.

I can respect a person's opinion to be pro-life. I can respect the decision to never abort a fetus. Neither of those are any of my business.

But when you intentionally spread bad information, lying to women in a stressful, life-changing circumstance about MEDICAL INFORMATION, then you've crossed the line to evil. If this kind of thing isn't illegal, it should be.

After all, if you have to lie through your teeth about medical, scientific fact to make your case, maybe you're on the wrong side of the issue?

You'd better have that baby and it had better be prepared to show its papers as soon as that cord is cut because babies look foreign.

No. At that point, they've transmorphed from vessels of gifts from god to shameless, lazy harlots wanting a handout.

Even Meghan McCain? I'd probably ask her to STFU after a few minutes, but after that I probably couldn't hear her over the motorboating anyway.

I'm sure we can find you something you like from the Arizona line. Maybe something sporty with clean lines (guessing you take a medium)?

The woman holding that sign is either mid-sneeze or has the look of someone praying fervently. I know that look (not the mid-sneeze one, though I know that one well) - I've seen it, and even had it on my own face a few times.

She thinks that if she believes it hard enough, that makes it true, and all the women who had abortions will suddenly "see the light (of god's grace)". There's a real pathology to the whole "born-again" movement, and I think they're constantly trying to force "come to Jesus" moments on the rest of us.

// in the not-priestly way of forcing a coming to Jesus, you sickos

We're the party of small government. Lower taxes. More gun rights. And since we're against abortion but also against public support for women least able to raise a child that would otherwise have been aborted, we're apparently anti-sex. But we also believe it if was rape or if the woman didn't want the baby, her body would take care of things. And those natural things that God obviously allowed to happen would also make God the worst abortionist ever. But yep, we're against abortions. Because it gets us votes. Oops, I mean because Jesus.

Abortion is a tragedy, but it's pretty much preventable. I just don't understand why the right would oppose contraception and education which are pretty much the only things that actually reduce the number of abortions.

2012-11-27 02:34:38 PM
Medically inaccurate and emotionally manipulative claims about abortion are standard practice among so-called crisis pregnancy centers, which are religiously-affiliated (and sometimes federally funded) organizations that use shame and fear tactics to pressure women out of having abortions.

I see a place we can cut some federal spending.
