I read that as Hitler friendly.

Remember when people said that this guy had this amazing pitch called the "gyroball" that no one could hit? Good times, good times.

If he could eliminate one 10 run inning per game he could really do something in this league.

/how much will the BoSox eat from his contract?

If the Padres weren't in the process of moving the fences in, I would be for this. Anyone could be a good pitcher with 417' power alleys.

He's a free agent, so the Red Sox have already eaten the entirety of that contract.

FTFA: The Padres are also reportedly interesting in pitcher Dan Haren, Shaun Marcum and Ubaldo Jimenez.

Collecting all the spares on one staff is no longer a good idea, San Diego.

Almost every off-season they pick a couple of has-beens out of the bargain bin, and usually one of them goes on to have a decent year. It's a cost-effective way to get a solid #3 or #4. If they both work out, you look like a genius. If one works out, release the other, and the remaining guy is worth 3x the price paid. If both fail... well, nobody expected anything out of them anyway, and you're only out some small multiple of the league minimum.

Hey, with Scott Boras as his agent he may insist the Sox keep paying Dice K and they may be stupid enough to do so.

Not sure if subby is mocking the article writer by mimicking the interesting/interested usage mistake or if both deserve to be sent back to 3rd grade.

I remember when Pat "The Bat" Burrell cranked one off of him during one of his first preseason games vs the Red Sox. When he returned to the dugout, he was making fun of him, and believe he flipped him off.

Um, roughly what I would pay for Mike Pelfrey? Who is going to be released by the Mets because they don't want to pay him ~5.7 for one season.

I think he got to camp and it turned out "gyroball" meant "screwball". He was probably told to knock it off since screwballs are notorious for very quickly ruining elbows...
