Can anyone get a clear picture of the jailhouse drawings from this kid? NBC and CNN has them but the resolution on them is horrible.

Yes, but does he now know kung-fu?

There is no clip in Neo's M16.

Uh, what kind of magazine is that? 2 round clip?

Someone who knows weigh in please.

If I'm thinking of the rooftop scene in the first film, there's an empty magazine falling just below the bottom of goobermcfly's image. I think Neo's going to toss that empty M16 and whip out his pistols.

Might work if this guy's on the jury.

Is that film based on Kurt Vonnegut, Jr's novel?

What a mockery - criminals with their mightier than thou attitude that disappears as soon as they are caught.

"I was beaten as a child"
"My parents didn't let me watch TV"
"Neo made me do it"

You did it, you meant it, you knew what you were doing. Take it like a man, you puke.

Speaking of the rooftop scene, is it just me or when I saw the first Matrix in the theatres I seem to recall a scene with Neo and Trinity between the "flying up the elevator shaft" part and the "fighting on the rooftop" part. It just seems to weird on the DVD to see them flying up the shaft and then a few seconds later "we're under attack".

I'm probably wrong, but I just seem to remember something is missing.

It's a glitch.

If only that kid could have seen those two horrible sequels, none of this would have ever happened.

Good call with the South Park reference, db420d.

Matrix defense, meet the Chewbacca defense.

Why would an eight foot Wookie live with a bunch of two foot Ewoks?

Don't worry folks! Only about three months until the lawyers and parent groups start blaming "Manhunt" for all the rampant asshattery and GTA will be off the hook.

2003-12-05 04:02:49 PM
When I say "mockery", I mean that they make a mockery of whatever purpose or message (however screwed up it might be) that they are trying to convey.

God I love experts. Where do they get these people?

I have a theory on people who are "cult experts" ... they're horribly fascinated with the material and it affects their grip on reality. One day he's testifying that Malvo was influenced by the Matrix, the next thing you know he's skullf*cking a dead goat, while in a circle of candles, trying to summon Cthulhu.

At least ... that's my impression ...

/blame Cthulhu

Is that film based on Kurt Vonnegut, Jr's novel?

Yeah, it's not too bad. It's a shame that Vonnegut wasn't cast as Kilgore Trout.

The only similarity between malvo and neo is that neither can act.

did anyone see the Law & Order last week about the kid who admitted sniping a bunch of people in NY. Of course it's a BS drama, but the kid confessed and they still let him off with the insanity by indoctrination defense.

I'm going to start using that for my speeding tickets...

The witness, who only would go by the name Morpheus when asked by reporters, was later arrested outside the courthouse today after offering red and blue pills to an undercover FBI agent. Special Agent Smith was credited with the arrest.

Watching Matrix Revolutions influenced me to set up a sniper rifle on a roof outside the Wachowski household.

This whole thing is garbage! So what if he was into the matrix? What a lame excuse..I say we kill him and let him find out the truth!

2003-12-05 04:25:40 PM
I'm still waiting for the homo-mo-sexual dirt to come out on these two...

c'MON! John Mohammad's got a little Nambla behind the ears...;)

2003-12-05 04:29:06 PM
It does not make sense! Now, ladies and gentleman of this supposed jury, remember, why would this Wookie live with these Ewoks? It DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.

Indeed, good call.

P.S., I was influenced by the nude-Keeanu scene in Reloaded to vomit incontrollably for hours.

Soccer moms suing the Watchowski Bros. since their film apparently killed the victims of the sniper spree in 3... 2... 1...

Draven...love the TNG reference...that was one funny episode, despite the fact that it was supposed to be serious.

It's just too bad he can't see the conclusion of his favorite film (being in jail and all).

yeah, cos if he did, he'd stop being so obsessed with it...

well at least he would know he had to die.

I've been waiting for the gay dirt to come out on these two ever since I saw that scary-ass photo of them with their arms around each other and shiat-eating grins on their faces. Ah, young love.

aaaaah, this is why the court system needs to be changed. Anyone can say that they're an expert. There are no credentials that are standard, so you can buy them from the hollywood upstairs college of handwriting and the courts don't know any better.

2003-12-05 04:50:18 PM
What?

I swear the world has gone farking insane.

Enough already.

People who write artcles like this and have opinions like that would make anyone want to go on a shooting spree.

Twister58201:

Wow, you're an asshole. I mean, Revolutions was a huge disappointment, but still.

2003-12-05 05:03:52 PM
What's the big farking deal?

All this "expert" is saying is that Malvo's particular flavor of crazy was believing he was a Neo-like savior in some poorly-thought-out scheme.

Nobody's saying he was right.

Is it that hard to believe that his 42-year old sniper mentor farked up his head pretty bad?

I know the scene you are talking about, and I have always thought that was one of the most awkward transitions in recent movie memory. It's like they just forgot to film/edit something in, and hoped no one would notice. Sloppy.

/film geek that thinks editing is a lost art these days

2003-12-05 05:10:56 PM
I think there's at least a minute of footage of the agents with Morpheus between the elevator and the rooftop scenes.

2003-12-05 05:29:51 PM
Someone help me out here. If you qualify as an "expert on cults" doesn't that generally equate to "fundamentalist christian douchebag"?

We've all seen www.chick.com, know what I mean?

2003-12-05 05:33:31 PM
The Matrix, in which the hero shoots his way out of a computer-imposed world of virtual reality.

WTF?...the hero CALLS his way out of the computer-imposed world. this defense might have worked if the sniper was accused of dialing up large phone bills...but murder?

2003-12-05 05:46:12 PM
Remember back in the old days when people were just batshiat farking crazy? You either got stuck in the Nervous Hospital forever or taken out behind the barn and shot in the back of the head.

Nowadays, everybody's got an excuse.
